Gowdy's Seafood

My brother & I stopped at Gowdy's Seafood & Soul today for lunch. We had never been there so we thought we would give it a try. WOW!!! It blew me away. Although it is all fried, it was an awesome lunch. I had the shrimp and perch combo and my brother had the whiting and shrimp combo. It was all fried to perfection, crispy, golden and not greasy. Stopped in because there was only one Yelp review and I assumed it must be a new place (I live about 45 min away and I just happened to be in the area). First question I was asked at the register was if I had a call-ahead order. So my guess is that that's what a lot of people do and you might want to consider it. Got the large Perch dinner. Best fried fish I've ever had. Honestly. It's a hole in the wall that makes delicious fresh fried fish. Big portions. Nice breading. I recommend the giant shrimp and catfish. The ladies that served me were amazing.
