Man talk about childhood memories! I grew up eating Schoop's, it was the best and still is!
It cost more than when I was a kid, but man oh man I can't get a lacey edged burger anywhere like Schoop's!
If you drive through and see Schoop's and you love cheese burgers, stop and grab a double or triple and you will be in heaven.

Most of the time, restaurants change over the course of 10-20 years. Ownership, cooks, recipes never stay the same.
SCHOOPS HAS! Burgers are still tasty! Chili cheese fries taste exactly the same! Super happy to see some things never change!

Poor experience here. Table was dirty when we arrived. Waitress acted like she wanted to be somewhere else. Big prices, tiny portions. Overrated.
Amazing burgers and shakes!

Food was very generic. Absolutely no effort in making sandwiches memorable in any way. Just slapped some lightly grilled meats in between some bread and called it "good". Sprite tasted like bleach. Not recommended unless your wanting generic.

Stopped in for breakfast and was not disappointed. The chorizo hash was delicious, good portion sizes, and fair pricing. Definitely would stop again to try more of their food. They've been there for awhile so clearly they know what they're doing.

My husband and I were traveling through on our way home from WI and stopped in for supper with our 5 kids. The place was clean and welcoming. Our server was excellent. I thought the prices were super reasonable. When the food came out, the portions were generous, and the food was hot and delicious. Everything was great. I would stop by here again if we travel through Michigan City in the future.

Immediately greeted apon entering. Servers and sweet and conscientious. Love the relaxed vibe. Outside could use a touch of tlc. Seems like a place Guy Fieri would have visited on Triple D (Diners,Drive-ins, and Dives. Will return.

Decided to try this place for the first time on the way back home from Chicago. It was honestly a very good burger joint, and I really enjoyed my meal. The crispy burger patty and bacon were cooked perfectly and the pickle relish was phenomenal. As for environment, the restaurant had an old-timey, small town diner feel and was a pretty neat place!
Parking: ~30 spots
Kid-friendliness: I would take kids in here if I had any. There was plenty of booth seating and tables to seat a family of most sizes, plus the food is all fairly family-friendly.
