A1 Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

Worst place I've been to in years. The food was the saltiest food I believe I have EVER had. Their rice had lots of black pepper in it. It tasted horrible. Their chicken was odd tasting. It was crispy but not deep fried. My wife's vegetables had an odd flavor. Neither of us ate much of our food. It was inedible. Worst food in years. I told the manager that our food was more salty than any other restaurant I've ever been to. He said that's how they make it. Fine... You have the worst food I've had in years. The portions were very small as well. If you run a restaurant and your customers dislike the food and you don't remake their food or give them their money back, you're going to lose money. Not only will I never go here, hopefully everyone that reads my review will not go here and choose a different restaurant. Not only have you lost my business, how many other people will go elsewhere after reading my review. If 10 people go elsewhere, you've lost their business too. The $15 you could have refunded to me, may cost you hundreds or a thousand down the line. Think about future losses instead of the $15 you could have lost today. Bad way to run a business. I left the same review on Google, Trip Advisor and Yelp... Reviews matter.

A-1 is my family's go-to Japanese restaurant. THE BEST chicken hibachi. Our favorite sushi is their Shrimp Tempura Roll, Out of Control roll, and Sushi

Pretty good hibachi. Sesame chicken was mediocre, but I love how you can get yakisoba instead of rice.

Order was put together accurately and quickly; this place is a bona fide superstar, and we are soooo lucky to have them here in Mooresville. Love the family that runs the place, great kids. Food is so good and authentic. It's not the cheapest place, but they're reasonably priced for what you're getting. Can't say enough good things about them, been going for years!

The food was great! We got the fried calamari and 4 sushi rolls. The rolls were very big. Everything tasted great, will definitely be back.

This place is such an awesome Japanese restaurant to have in a small town. I hope they never leave. I love having access to good food close to home.

Do yourself a favor, go get Kroger sushi at 1/2 the price and pick up some Raman noodles and throw in some vegetables for their noodle dishes- they seemed overwhelmed today but it bad- never again

Worst sushi that I've ever had. It was falling apart to the point of not being able to pick it up at all. Not to mention, I was sick to my stomach, not even ten minutes after eating it. Avoid this place. ???

Are the reviews a joke? I won’t even go into this place after driving here. 4.5 Google maps stars? This place is in the back of an abandoned shopping center with a sign that looks like it’s 50 years old. There are weeds all over the place and it doesn’t even look like it’s open. I wouldn’t eat here if they paid me $1000.
