This location seems to be much better than the Plainfield location.
I was not a fan of the order kiosk and the self serve drink area. No one explained that you have to scan the receipt for your drinks and it’s on a timer. The timer was cutting off the drink before I was able to get any drinks into the cups. So I was trying to put the soda into the cup and the machine wouldn’t turn on. I assumed that beverage was just out of carbonation or something and wasn’t going to get a drink but a kind woman behind me explained it’s times and to rescan the receipt.
When our meal arrived we started eating and of course the food was good. My husband asked if any sauce came with his food, I said I didn’t think so and I got up to ask, my daughter was also missing her sauce, neither of the kids meals came with it but I must not have added sauce to the meal at the kiosk. They no longer carry the chiles in vinagre and the man who was up walking around said that I could purchase a buffalo sauce. I went back to the kiosk and purchased my .50 cent sauce and then waited for the item. Another ten minutes pass and I flag down a worker to ask for the sauce we ordered but by that point my husband was already done with his meal.
I think this would have been a much better experience if we had an actual waiter instead of waiting around for technology to keep up with the people.
The food was good, nothing notable. Tasted just like Steak ‘n Shake.

Don't know how I feel about the kisos driven ordering or the scan for a beverage features. Was my order correct? Yes. Did I have an actual server? Yes. Was the food prepared as expected? Yes. It's just weird the amount of automation in fast food these days.

The food was awful. They don't have a waitress anymore. You order from a kiosk and the kiosk has the audacity to ask for a tip.
Food was nice and fresh! Lettuce, pickle and tomato were cold and the meat was hot.... just like it's supposed to be. Staff was very friendly and stayed busy.

I’ve visited this location because I wanted to try out the new way they cook their food in beef tallow, the tenders I ordered were cold, so were the fries, but I wanted to enjoy ay least something so I went in and said I would like fresh fries, they apologized and gave me two large fries even though I ordered a medium, which made me feel glad that they were apologetic and helped me out and the fact that they corrected their issue was appreciated, as I dont like spending my hard earned money on cold bullshit, they should put together a timing system so that way if it goes off that tells whoever is running the fry station or working on the line that they all know WHEN to make sure they slow down on dropping food. My suggestion, would be to drop everything to order as customers come when its SLOW so everyone including myself gets fresh food.

I had a wonderful experience today. The food was perfect and the staff were phenomenal. It is worth the drive from Indianapolis to Mooresville to visit this Steak N Shake. Times have changed and I know that there will be adjustments that I must embrace (Kiosks, Etc...). I had almost given up on Steak N Shake until this visit. I had a Double Steakburger with Cheese, medium fries, five-way chili and a strawberry milkshake. I plan to return soon. I was treated like family here.
