Great pizza, but dropped the ball with service on recent visit. This is one of our favorite places for pizza in the area, and we go there regularly. The food is always good, but today, we sat there for over 20 minutes without a single person stopping by to offer us water, offer to take our drink order or even just acknowledge our being there. It wasn’t even especially busy - most tables were empty. We gave up and went somewhere else.

Great food! Good service! Average prices. Unfortunately some recent modifications have created mass chaos when they get busy. Watch your feet as tripping is a potential hazard and booths falling off the ledge are a serious concern.

We decided to try a new bar near Highland and came across Danny Z's, but we will absolutely not be returning. What started as a fun night quickly turned into a disappointing and outright offensive experience. While enjoying our evening, another individual—who is a current employee took it upon herself to tell me that she was Mexican but that my music was "too much." Later in the night, she approached me again while I was dancing to Spanish music (merengue, to be specific), saying, "Let’s make a deal—how about you stop playing Mexican music?" This was not only offensive but also completely ignorant. I even told her she could play whatever music she wanted as long as she paid for it, but her behavior was already out of line. My friends were understandably upset by how I was treated, but instead of addressing the inappropriate behavior of this individual, the owner's son decided we had to leave. It became abundantly clear that this place is not welcoming to anyone who isn’t white. If you’re looking for a place that values inclusivity and treats all patrons with respect, Danny Z’s is NOT the place to go. We won’t be back, and I’ll make sure to spread the word about our experience.

So we have been ordering from Danny Z's for years and I am not sure if this is a new policy or something I have missed in the past. When I picked up my takeout, they are charging 3% for using a credit card. They call it a "charge fee."
I get it, they have to pay the credit card company a transaction fee and are now passing this fee along to their customers. Sorry, not a fan of this policy. Furthermore, having a "Tip" line on carry out is just wrong.

Part of this review has to do with me using hearing aids. It was way too loud for me to hear the conversations with the people we came with. It's partying for you who enjoy it. Service was extremely slow. It was close to an hour after we ordered. My entree was barely warm like it had been sitting for awhile. We ordered iced tea, which I nearly finished while we waited for food. They made no offer to refill the glass even after I held it up when the waitress walked past. When we were done and said no to dessert, it was nearly another 20 minutes before we got the checks and at least ten more minutes to bring our cards back so we could leave. NOTE: We got there at 4:00 to try to beat the rush, and finally got out around 6:15. Of course it seemed longer to me since I couldn't hear enough to converse with our friends.

This place is seriously lacking some intelligence and customer service. I went there to watch the Colts but they could not be convinced to change one single TV to the Colts game (only 20-30 TVs in the place and not even half full). The other 2 times I had been there when the Bears game was on, they were able to change a TV to the Colts game. However, last Sunday because there were "so many different games on" (same as every Sunday, actually one less because the Bears played at 830 AM), all they could offer me was a 40" TV split into 6 different games. I am not sure if you have ever watched 6 games on one TV but you can't even tell who the teams are. After I was given the pathetic reasoning I went to another bar in IL as apparently you need to go to IL to watch the Indianapolis Colts. Try Customer Service and you might get customers that actually want to come back.

My cousins & I decided to go on an unexpected dinner date. THANK Goodness we decided to try out Danny Z!!! Our waiter was so awesome, I believe his name was Jared. We asked for recommendations & he knew his stuff! He suggested the Guava Paloma & we ended up have 3 each 🤣🤣, food was delicious. We had spinach dip & it was honestly one of the best ones ever had!!! Pizza was amazing too. It was our first time going but definitely not our last!!! I really hope this review is viewed & Jared is acknowledged for his delightful customer service, we appreciate how well you treated us. Had a great girls night out!!!
