My first time here. The food was fabulous, the drinks were good also. Short ribs were out of this world, highly recommend.
Love this restaurant. Food and drinks are always spot on. The filet mignon was exquisite and done perfectly. Waitress was pleasant and timed our orders perfectly. Sushi was tasty and appetizers super good. Best crab rangoon ever. Expensive bit excellent.
From the moment I stepped into Kitaro's the minimalist decor set a serene tone, promising an authentic sushi experience. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the city, this gem feels like a secret hideout for sushi lovers. I visited on a Thursday afternoon 3 ish , and hit the sweet spot post lunch prior to dinner hours so not too crowded. The wait staff was very attentive as I was to meet my party traveling for some distance and could not confirm a set arrival time, however the staff was willing to accommodate the seating reserving a table. When one enters the hostess,Yoko, with what appears to be a never ending smile despite the pressures of the job accompanied me to the bar. The decor is the very essence of cleanliness. John, the owner and chef's knife work shone in my sushi platter—paper-thin slices of Ginger gleamed under the light, paired with a dollop of wasabi which was perfection. Service was warm the waitress introduced each course with a quick description about the plate which added a personal touch without slowing the meal's rhythm. The waitstaff refilled my green tea before I even noticed it was low—a small but appreciated detail. Kitaro Surf and Turf isn't cheap, but the quality justifies the price. It's not just a meal; it's a journey of flavors and textures. The clean, modern bathroom and quiet ambiance made the experience feel polished yet relaxed. If you're after conveyor-belt convenience, look elsewhere—this is sushi as an art form. I'll be back! The Saki selection is superior the bar has a wide selection not limited to Japanese offerings but most of the top end brands one might expect in a high class bar. The bartender too is very knowledgable. I had one of their signature Maki the GODZILLA Maki ROLL (8PCS) Shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado, asparagus, and massago, topped with tempura crunch, sweet soy, wasabi mayo. It was wonderful. My party of four all enjoyed their various entrees which included New York strip steak, Sashimi, and Shrimp.
One of my go to places when I'm in town. Food was excellent, although slightly expensive the quality is worth it. I wish the server staff would learn the menu though. That means a lot when they're delivering your food when they can explain it makes a big difference.
I made a reservation for 5 people. I brought in a cake because we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. They told me it would be an additional fee of $3 per person for us to have our cake. I told them we would cut it and serve it ourselves. They said it would still cost $3 per person . They made us take our cake back to the car because we weren't going to pay for the additional fees. It would have been nice if someone had told me this when we were making the reservation. The food was delicious, and our waiter did a great job.

we where there to celebrate a friends birthday. She got a cute dessert for free. the food is consistantly fresh and delicious . we have eaten her many times and are never disapoinmented.
Gotta love the consistency of this place every Friday for lunch I'll be coming here and it's proving to not disappoint. Gotta try the lobster roll if you love some delicious succulent, lobster and some fries. Best part about this place is the staff who is always there to help you with whatever questions you need about their menu or just with their pleasant smiles.
Food and service are always on point. Sushi is a little overpriced, but I guess you get what you pay for. Not sure I would buy the lowest priced sushi lol.

I ordered this drink, and then when I found the hair, I asked to give it back and the owner told me
No, she’s not taking it back unbelievable I had to pay like 20 bucks for his drink that had cubic hair 🫠

The miso soup was good. We had dirty utensils. I ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon maki rolls. The fish in the rolls was minced. The spicy tuna tasted like it was mixed in with bottled salsa. I could not eat it. Good atmosphere.
