Last night, my husband, son, and I were looking for somewhere new (to us) to try. We were craving Japanese. We settled in Little Tokyo because it had ok Google reviews - and was really our only option as we have been everywhere else around the immediate here.Walking in the door should have been our “sign” to go elsewhere. There was a table blocking the doorway that said DoorDash orders. A young guy appeared from behind a curtain, and I asked him if they were only doing to go orders. He seemed surprised but replied no, and moved the table out of the way a little bit for us to get by. He told us to have a seat anywhere. There were no lights nor heat on. About 15 min later he returned to the table and took our order. The lights and heat kicked on. All 3 canned drinks had expiration dates of mid Feb. Not horribly out of date. We ordered a sushi roll, filet mignon stir fry, pork katsudon, edamame, cucumber salad, and shrimp shumai. It took an hour and a half to get it all out.Husband said sushi was ok. My son could have gotten better stir fry at Round the clock. Pretty sure it was pkg and they microwaved it. And my pork katsudon was straight up microwaved. They took rice. Poured eggs over it w pork cutlet previously cooked and zapped it in the microwave. We couldn’t eat either. We also placed a to go order an hour into our meal of a tuna roll and salmon roll (6 pieces each). After an hour and a half, I had to go looking for the kid who was serving the table. He just kept disappearing. We were still the only ppl there. Finally he reappeared and we asked for our to go and the check. Someone came from the kitchen and said it would be 10 min on the to-go?. So almost 2 hours later we were walking out of the worst meal ever. Getting home found there was only 1 roll not 2 - checked the receipt and gad been charged for both. How does this place have 4.1 stars on Google is beyond me. Never again.

So I placed my order and got there at 3:01pm nobody said anything to me until 3:25pm. The only reason I waited because I already paid. The food wasn't not good to me I tried to add seasoning to my snapper but it didn't help. I'm post my picture but the seasoning is what I added to try and save

Love the decor. Took me back to when I lived overseas as a little girl. The restaurant was chill so I was able to enjoy everything and talk with my partner. I had soba noodles with chicken and veggies. The broth was flavorful, the chicken was tender and the veggies was refreshing. My partner fell in love with chicken Katsu. We were full but not overwhelmed. Will definitely visit again.

My wife and I have been here multiple times in the past pre-Covid, but my job had me working Saturdays. Well we came in today on 3/2/2024 and there was a big problem with Little Tokyo. First, as we enter there is a table blocking the entrance door. A kid sets us down and for the next ten minutes we sat there waiting staring at the menus hoping that any trace of human life inside would notice us. It's not that hard to be noticed when we were the only 2 people in there but somehow we were forgotten. We sat there pouring over the menu over and over sitting waiting for anything, which never came.. No water. Nothing. Apparently there was some really enticing TV going on in the kitchen which is more important than paying customers. A guy even came into the sushi bar entrance but didn't seem to notice us. It was quickly weird there and we left after chilling for the aforementioned ten minutes. After this great display of ignorance and disrespect we went to Sakura Bowl and actually got service and food. Used to speak highly of this place but after today Little Tokyo will never be considered again.

Sushi is very good. The atmosphere is a little bit old and tired. Overall a great place.

Ordered the Chicken Katsu Don gonna be honest I have lived in this area for a long time never heard of anyone talk about this place I love chicken katsu and have order katsu don from multiple places in many different cities this was not bad, food was hot my biggest compaint is that the chicken was not as crispy as I would like on a fried chicken dish. Wish they woulda went with a more classic presentation with a bed of rice with veggies on top then the fried egg whole then the katsu but everyone does things different I ordered to go thru door dash it was ready well before the estimated time. Overall not bad for an area where you're not gonna find the same dishes they serve I'll definitely come back and try something different see how it holds up for now just a okay place if your local and seeking this style of cuisine

Got here at perfect timing. But they ended up cutting the menu in half so didn't have to many choices. What I did have was good almost made me feel like I was back in Cali. The bad part was it was small dishes.

Sushi is not fresh. The tuna was completely inedible and had a noticeable fishy smell it. I had to spit it out. Salmon was edible but not great. Even the California roll did not taste fresh. Everything needed sauce. Tempura, edamame, and soup were fine. It’s relatively cheap, but be careful what you pay for.

Don't go here! This is disgusting! I had the teriyaki chicken that looked and tasted like cardboard (processed meat) It had a horrible smell to it, I honestly thought that I was eating some kind of animal other than a chicken. My husband ordered teriyaki shrimp and soba noodles and he ended up with Udon noodles. We ordered around 5:15 and was told it will be ready in 30 mins and when we got there it wasn't ready......we waited 20 extra minutes and ended up being late for our appointment. The food stinks! This whole experience was horrible and I will be reporting them to all news channels. They should be shut down.

Edamame seemed to be microwaved and way too hot to eat when served. The sushi we ordered that had tuna was so bad, it looked like tuna out of a can. We spit it out it was not edible. Even the miso soup had a different kind of smell to it.

They are very accommodating and kind here. The food is great, and I would recommend to not get a lot of fried things in the same meal as they are kind of heavy on it. The fried rice tastes great but it’s oily so I don’t prefer to eat it with something deep fried.Everything tastes great here and I’ve had a so much of their options.Great tempura, great katso, udon noodles, sushi, harumaki, egg rolls…all of it is good. You’ll pay just a little more than a corporate place but it’s worth the authenticity and also worth supporting local families.Parking: Plenty of parking all around
