I grew up on John's pizza , moved out of state and miss it dearly. Recently while traveling through I stopped and got a large to go They DO NOT disappoint. It was fantastic. It's one ( original recipe) from childhood that hasn't been altered.. Wish I could get it delivered to Alabama!

After hearing so many people rave about this place, I decided to try it out. Ordered a family size sausage- total came to $36 and some change. It's pretty pricey for what it is.
I'm not sure what people see in this pizza. The sausage is ground up and has almost no flavor. It basically tasted like ground beef. The sauce was also very bland. The edge of the crust was good, but the bottom was soggy.
I don't think I'll be ordering from Original John's again. There are too many way better options around.

Great pizza but ridiculous price increase! Way too much for a single price increase. unfortunate because I usually buy at least 3 family size pizzas a month from you. I drive a nice distance to come pick it up as well. The price hike now makes me want to circle back to my close second pizza place State line pizza. highland location is awesome and now their prices beat John's. Deep dish state line is a pie I miss anyway. Johns huge price increase just pushed me to the Stateline pizza option. heck even house of pizza on indy Blvd is a close bargain to johns new prices!
been going to John since calumet city moved to Chesterton still go there for pizza now we have our neighbors asking us to get them one when we are There Jeanette cantrell they know me as grandma Chesterton I greatest lady husband's birthday party there can't say enough greatest

Best sausage in the region because they make it in house!!!! trust me when I say this I love pepperoni! But the sausage is the best flavor and seasoning in it!!!
Got to try a nice sample of takeout pasta/salad options from this place. The penne and italian sausage in red sauce was fabulous. Maybe the fettucini alfredo came up a bit short, but even that was quite good.
