I was in the area for business and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did ! I was there around 3 pm and it was BUSY ! It has very clean, yet sports like bar vibes, and a really neat interior. Probably some of the best tortilla chips I've had in a long while. The beef on the taco salad could use some seasoning, but overall, it was good ! I would come back.

We paid $50 to get a baked potato that was ice cold when it got to the table, a steak that was half done and a steak that was raw. I asked for my steak to be well done. I said absolutely no pink in the middle. I've had plenty of them cooked right here before. I wrote to Hunters on Facebook. They ignored me and deleted my complaint from the post I made it on.

Tried this place randomly and it did not disappoint. They have a bar but also have different areas for dining that's separated from the bar. Food was good and tasty and service was wonderful. I had the rib-eye steak and it was done just right.
Hunters Hideaway in Nappanee is a true hidden gem and a place I’m glad we discovered. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a pleasant small-town charm that immediately makes you feel comfortable. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.
The food was the real highlight of my visit. We ordered the breaded tenderloin, and it was outstanding. The outside had a perfect crunch, while the inside was thick, moist, and seasoned wonderfully. It was clear that this tenderloin was made with care and skill—it’s easily one of the best I’ve had. I also tried the poutine, which was rich, savory, and absolutely delicious. The flavors came together beautifully, and it felt like a dish you’d come back for again and again. To round it out, the chicken gizzards were surprisingly excellent—crispy, flavorful, and prepared just right.
Between the great food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the attentive service, Hunter’s Hideaway stands out as a fantastic place to eat in Nappanee. I left full, satisfied, and already planning my next visit. This is the kind of restaurant you’ll want to recommend to friends and family.
