I was surprised at how good the food was here. It was fresh, delicious and flavorful. We were on our way through Napanee and and a friend suggested it. We liked it so much we decided we need to go back
Just tried the new Italian and it is ok. A little too expensive for the quality and amount of food. Much smaller beer menu. Service was nice and quick.
I would love an update as to what you folks are doing with the remodel, but more importantly. When you will reopen!
I went for a walk to see if there was information in a window. Sure enough there was. But sadly, no estimate as to when they will open to the public.
I wish I didn't have the mixed feelings I do.
We've been here many times. The food is always very good to excellent, the beers are decent, and some of the policies are absolutely maddening.
They'll run a special, yet won't allow it to be made for carryout. We've even tried to pay full price for items so we could simply eat them at home on the night we wanted them.
Sometimes I don't care to sit in the restaurant, but I can't have sushi on Thurs. night (even at full price) unless I come sit in their booth - no doubt a poorly veiled attempt to cover the discount through drink, app. purchases.
Well, that does not cut it for me. So, on multiple occasions, you have lost the sale with your policy, and left me with a bad impression of the place to share with others.
I can't rate you any higher until things change.
*Update - Things never did change, IMHO - and the owner response was rooted in defensiveness. They are now closed and trying to regroup, reinvent and reopen. I hope they are able to learn from the constructive criticism people take the time to offer them. I wish them well.
Great server. Unfortunately understaffed.

Unfortunately, it took over 30 minutes to get cocktails on a Wednesday evening and then another 20 minutes for our second round. Food was just ok nothing to rave about.

Food and service were awesome. They recently changed the menu. It was much better than the previous. Would highly recommend the lobster Mac and cheese.

My review will be broken down into three categories: Food, Service, and atmosphere.
Food
I had in the following order: spinach artichoke dip, Bang bang sushi, crab hush puppies and strawberry cheesecake.
Spinach artichoke dip: 5/5 I would come back just for this dish alone. Definitely a must try.
Bang bang sushi: 3/5 I have never seen such small proportions for sushi in any sushi restaurant I have been to. Sadly the scallions overpowered the shrimp and the spicy sauce didn't add much flavor.
Crab hush puppies: 2/5 If I was to make a recommendation to alter the recipe, I would say add more salt to make the flavors pop more. The hush puppies by themselves were very empty of flavor. I could barely taste the crab. The dill mustard that came with it was the only thing that made this dish interesting.
Strawberry cheesecake: 4/5 I don't take a star off for flavor, but rather portion size. My wife and I both ordered cheesecake of different varieties, but my slice came out 2/3 the size of her slice. A very noticeable difference in size.
Service: 6/5 The host was amazing and our waitress was great as well. In fact, the extra star on top was when the hostess came out of the restaurant to ask my wife and I wanted her to take a picture in front of an art installation. Props to the restaurant for hiring such an amazing hostess.
Almost everywhere I go, I dress casual. I felt out of place here, but not uncomfortably so. This place gives off an upscale vibe. The aesthetic is modern minimalist with art deco mixed in. The color scheme was a little dark for my taste, but had some nice accent lights around the room.

Big city class and pizzazz, with that small town friendliness! From the moment you walk in, you are warmly greeted. It's an impressive space in a small town, and it feels like it could just as well be in Chicago or New York. Nonetheless, it's unpretentious and welcoming. Cocktails are fresh and made with care. The appetizer offerings are as delicious as they are pleasing to the eye. The beer list offers something for every taste and isn't overwhelming. The entrees we had were wonderful and imaginative. We didn't try the sushi, but it looks amazing! If you live around here, lucky you! If you live in Elkhart or South Bend, it's definitely worth the drive. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I were camping locally and decided our last night would be date night. We researched various locations for a nice dinner and found Ruhe was the place. We arrived only 10 minutes after opening with smiles and courteous wait staff seating us. The room was beautiful and felt very elegant, but you didn't feel you needed to be dressed up. Tara our waitress was lovely. She explained they were in transition to new menu, advised what was removed and what was added. To my delight, lobster ravioli was on new menu!! SCORE!!!! We started with goat Cheese sweet pepper jam dip and delicious! My hubby ordered spagana which is cross between lasagna and spaghetti and me lobster ravioli. Our dishes came with beautiful presentation. However my cream sauce was like milk. No problem for me. The flavor was there with exception there was a bit too much lemon in sauce. I noticed immediately that it was too much. My son in law is an executive chef at Palmer House in Chicago so I've been involved in many tastings for new menus as a guinea pig. As consumers we are also teachers. I spoke to Tara about experience, my opinions on flavor and she took all my comments with grace and appreciation.
Our evening was still amazing, we will be back because everything was good. Just needed some adjustments. Thank you!!

The goat cheese with sweet pepper jam and their homemade crackers is delicious. My husband had the roasted garlic and portobello mushroom chowder and that was also delicious.

I've eaten here a lot. The food quality just isn't consistent. You'll get cold food one visit, hot food another. I won't be making the 25 minute drive to eat here anymore. Service has always been good. Atmosphere is just somewhat bland. For the prices they charge, I would simply expect more.
