This place is truly a gem. The service has always been great. We have been here multiple times and it has only amazed us everything. Highly recommend the Smoked Old Fashion! Chef Logan has always accommodated us with dietary restrictions and gone out of his way to make sure we were well served! The best part about this place is the bread pudding! Cannot get enough.

We live in Louisville and love driving up to New Washington to enjoy great food, drinks, service and atmosphere at The 1894 Lodge. Everything we’ve had there from Big Mac Egg Rolls, to the fresh house salad with house made dressing, to the 14 oz ribeye, to the bourbon bread pudding has been excellent. My favorite thing is go there on Wednesday for $1 wings! I highly recommend this wonderful establishment!

We really enjoyed our meal at 1894. One of use had thw salmon and Brussel sprouts and they loved it. One had the sirloin steak and they said you couldn't tell the difference in it and an filet it was that good. One had the chicken and macaroni& cheese they enjoyed it. I had the ribeye and loaded fries and the fried stole the show, they were delicious! The ribeye was ok but lacked flavor. I wish I had gotten the sirloin. It was a great atmosphere and really cool place.

We recently went in for dinner after hearing about the place for a while, we started with the French Onion soup, and when it arrived, there was a small pair of scissors like you would use to trim hair from your ears, nose or maybe eyebrows and we were told it was to cut the cheese ! I have eaten French onion soup all over the US and abroad, and never has it been served with scissors to cut the cheese. They should have saved the money from the scissors and added flavor to the soup.....it was very bland and by far the worst soup I've ever had. Now, the entrees we ordered the meatloaf and the pork schnitzel, and I must say they were loaded with flavor.....SALT ! Both dishes were loaded with so much salt that if there was other seasonings or flavors, they were overpowered by SALT, and the pork dish made no sense being smothered in sausage gravy who's ever idea of this dish they should have kept it to themselves. The hostess was rude. The decor made no sense, and the only good thing about the place was that the server was pleasant and very apologetic about the poor quality of the dishes and over abundance of salt ! I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else, but instead warn anyone with high BP or hypertension to keep your phone handy in case they need to call 911 because of a medical emergency.

Drove an hour to eat here. 1000% recommend! Staff was very friendly. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was one a kind. We had the crab dip appetizer, tomahawk steak, pork chop, mashed taters, mac n cheese, and 7 layer chocolate cake. Food was melt in your mouth good! PS. Reservations highly recommended!!!!

My wife and I went here for dinner a few weeks ago. Walking in the door definitely gives that great early Americana vibe. We had a Brussels sprouts appetizer, that was perfect! I had a NY strip steak, that was perfectly cooked and delicious! My wife had the meatloaf that she raved about!
We will certainly go back! Great place, don’t miss out!
