I do lots of reviews online and some are to help the business as much as the customer. So with that said: The food is really good. Comes out hot and fresh cooked from the kitchen. Really good food. The service is slow. I think it’s because the kitchen might be cooking one order at a time. If you have 6 to 12 guests and 4 order chicken or burgers or tenderloins then the service could be quicker by cooking more than 1 order at a time. The wait staff gets it out quickly, it just seems the kitchen takes a long time to make the orders. Not horrible but there was 26 minutes between a salad and the food. So plan to visit with your table companions a lot while waiting. The atmosphere is dingy, dirty, dark , old. It would be wonderful if they would paint! Ceilings, walls, doors, trim everything! Maybe take up the 1980s carpet squares and tile , and do a beautiful new flooring. They still have dingy fans on the ceilings - thank goodness they were not on! There are black little hunks of ???? On the ceiling. The whole thing needs a good cleaning and update. And the kitchen could probably use a makeover too I bet. I’m sure closing for a couple weeks or even closing an area and redoing it then move to the next area. Get some fresh paint everywhere and new floors to compliment the good food.
Possibly one of the best, homemade and euro style meals I've eaten in a long time. Charming environment that makes you feel at home. Then comes incredible juicy, tender and crispy fried chicken and hand breaded pork schnitzel with a glorious wine brown gravy. Sauerkraut and potato pancakes finish out the meal. Ridiculous huge servings assure no one leaves hungry and there's plenty to share. The staff are charming and engaging. Worth a stop every time.

Made the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to Oldenburg on my birthday today just to try this German restaurant out. We are really glad we did. I had the lunch chicken special, just because of the reviews that I had read about the chicken and my wife had the Reuben with pickle fries. We also ordered the Sauerkraut balls. This did not disappoint at all. It's not often that I will say a restaurant has great food, but this was unique and delicious with generous portions. Look forward to returning. If you're driving in from the north, make sure to take 229 into town, if you like twists and turn.

This place is awesome!!! We had the BEST waitress, I wish we would’ve gotten her name!! All the food she recommended was beyond awesome and she was so kind and excellent with our kiddos!!! Highly recommend sauerkraut balls, pretzel w/ beer cheese, Rueben, tenderloin, sausage sandwich & chicken dinner!!! The prices are amazing too!! Everybody loved their food! I would rate this place 10/10 ♥️??
