New to the area and stopped in to check it out. The bartender was nice and there was live music, the musicians were friendly and chatty. The food was just fine. No cocktail menu, which was disappointing. The wine was corked, so I switched to beer. The bartender mentioned there are sometimes coursed meals on the train car, but the website and Facebook is outdated so I have no idea how to stay informed about any special events. I would like to give it another shot and try a nicer...
We went on a Saturday night and it was just the bartender and she was the cook too. But she did a job and was very attentive and friendly. Very limited menu with only chips or apple sauce for sides. The place was very nice and clean and homey. We went hoping to eat on the train but they didn't have it open. Do recommend if you just want a nice quiet place to have a drink.
My husband and I stopped here on our way to Illinois for lunch. It is a beautiful place with great history. Our waitress was excellent and full of history about the area. Our food was also excellent. We truly enjoyed our stopped here and would stop again if in the area.
