I typically do not post food reviews on these pages, but my visit to Depot Hot Dogs was exceptional. Last night, I sampled their newest menu item, Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries, which were remarkable. The fries were cooked to perfection, with an ideal balance of ranch and cheese, accompanied by outstanding bacon. I appreciate the family-run aspect of the business. For authentic Chicago flavors, including beef hot dogs and Italian Beefs, Depot Hot Dogs is a recommended destination. They also offer items for dogs. Their support for the Humane Society is commendable, demonstrating consideration for both customers and their pets. While new menu items are available, their exceptional bacon cheese fries stand out. Honestly the best Chicago style hotdog I ever had. And I know it’s hard to mess that up but I’m serious- the ingredients are fresh, they carefully meticulously made this dog perfectly with the right amount of ingredients and didn’t make it all sloppy and soggy. Fries were hot and fresh as well. Excellent.

Best Chicago Style Hot Dog around NWI! (imo, they even beat Simon Sez on Rt 30). Staff was super friendly, we sat outside at a table to eat, nice clean atmosphere, prices were the norm now-a-days. For the morons who posted comments about this place not having a public bathroom... this is a small side-of-the-road get-it-to-go sandwich shop, stop at a damn gas station if ya need to!

A small Chicago Dog with a small amount of fries for $7.25 is a total rip-off. The Vienna hot dog has a chewy skin that once I bit into it, half of the toppings fell off. It's very messy and they give very few napkins. For that price, they should serve a larger quality hot dog. You can buy Nathan's Jumbo Hot Dogs at a grocery store for less than $1 each. Add the same toppings, including Vienna relish and Vienna sport peppers for around $1.50 total. Depot Dogs can purchase the same ingredients for less. That's one hell of a mark-up!
Employee taking orders was rude and unfriendly. Cash only with an ATM that charges more than most. No bathrooms? No sanitizers to clean your hands before eating! After all of the years they have been in business, you would think they could easily afford a small bathroom. Saw a young man going into the woods behind the building, most likely going to the bathroom. Disgusting.
