Unfortunately, this is a place where we will not be returning. We had an absolutely awful experience with the food we were served. My meal consisted of a cold, not warm, baked potato, and an overcooked, dry chicken breast with way too much cheese to cover it up. My daughter's kids meal was also of poor quality. Our server was very kind and offered to replace our meals, but we opted to not do that since we heard a few tables around us were having similar complaints with their food, and it had been difficult to track down our server. She removed the meals from our bill without any issues, which was super appreciated.

I'm rating Texas Corral two stars instead of one because we went in before and had an ok experience with lunch. I really hope this business can make some positive changes.

My family and are here on vacation and we came here for dinner but very not impressed. We got here at 8:30 we waited two hours for our food, they didn’t cook the steaks correctly the first time, they brought the wrong meal than from what I ordered. I really hope whoever is here and on vacation they have a better experience than what we did.

The worst meal I have had in a long time. Ordered filet mignon, was like chewing rubber , even when cooked at med-rare. Actually dont think the cut was actually a filet. Husband's ribs were dry, sweet potatoes were dried out as well. Ranch dressing had zero flavor. Chicken dumpling soup was salty. Beer was flat from the bottle. Best part of the meal was the service and the water with lemon I ordered. Have been to other locations and never had these issues.

The food came to the house in generous portions still warm
the chicken w the shrimp was tender
that's hard to find especially with a take-home order of 3 dinners! Home run Texas Corral keep up the good work! Compliments to the chef.

Place was fantastic, best chicken fried steak I've had in a very long time. Food is great, so is the wait staff.. and the rolls are so yummy. So glad we checked this place out.

My fiancée and I had dinner here last night. Place was like a ghost town, which should have been a warning. We get seated behind another couple who is finishing up and paying their bill by credit card and the waitress tells them humorlessly, “Don’t steal my pen.” The couple chuckled in disbelief at what they heard. We were “lucky” enough to get the same waitress, who seemed to struggle a bit taking our order. My fiancée ordered her salad with the dressing on the side. It was delivered to our table with the dressing not on the side, but drowning in it. She wouldn’t eat it and mentioned nicely to the waitress she had asked for it on the side when she brought our entrees. The waitress seriously gave her a hate stare and, with annoyance, asked if she wanted it remade, which my fiancée declined since our food had arrived. The food was just okay, but lukewarm at best. Our waitress never once came back to check on us until we had been sitting for a while with empty, dirty plates in front of us. We had to ask for the check and left payment on the table, fearing the waitress would not come back again to collect our cash. Honestly, this was some of the worst, unfriendliest service we had ever experienced and it will affect our decision to return in the future.

I went in here on a Saturday night and surprisingly it was dead. And I soon found out why. Our server was pretty miserable and made sure to let us know. I also want to point out she only came twice when she wasn't taking our food our drink order. She could not have been more rude. The rolls were okay but my meal was nothing more than mediocre. I was incredibly disappointed with this place which sucks because about 10 years ago. This was one of my favorite places to dine in. I get they've had a manager change, I get they had to change some things due to legal issues but still I was extremely disappointed. Don't think I'm going to be coming back for a while until some changes are made. Lots of other good restaurants in Portage.

Well. This is a sad review. Because I used to absolutely love this place. My family and I would come here all the time as a kid. Recently however, it has absolutely changed.

-Get here at 6pm, which should be peak dinner time, and it’s COMPLETELY empty but maybe 3 other tables. Red flag.🚩
-Get seated and our waiter gets our drink order, or so we thought, she had to come back twice to make sure she remembered it right? Red Flag.🚩
-We got ONE basket of bread that had one tiny roll and another medium sized roll, and was told we would get more since there was more than 2 people at our table, we never got any more bread. Red flag 🚩
-We look over the menu and holy cow, the prices? For the quality? Red Flag 🚩
-We take our order, and the waitress AGAIN had to ask us twice if she got her notes right about prior order. I’d swear she was new but she said she wasn’t soooo? Red flag🚩
-Food wasn’t good. Maybe a 4/10. The Texas nachos were basically concession stand nachos for $11.99 which is criminal which didn’t have most of the included ingredients that were listed to be on it. Red flag 🚩
-Over $3 almost $4 for a pop is literally insane? Red flag. 🚩
-our waitress came 4 times. Once to get our drinks, 2nd to put down our drinks to take our order, 3rd to give us our order, and 4th to give us a check. Nothing in between. Red flag 🚩

It’s so sad to say that we won’t be back. And encourage others to go somewhere else. The prices aren’t worth it for the quality and service you get.
