We just stopped in for dinner at Wagner’s ribs after a lovely day at the beach. The food was outstanding; very high-quality at price is well below any fine dining experience you could encounter. But every bit is good as well. The waitress was a friendly gal; made some good suggestions. The place was a friendly tavern with Crownpoint football on TV. My husband enjoyed the ribs and I had the filet mignon. We both came home with plenty of food so I won’t have to cook tomorrow! We will return time and time again!

I was really excited to try this place. I saw that they had dry rubbed smoked ribs and I drove out of my way to come here and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I asked for a full rack of ribs and I asked if they could pick out one that had some good bark on it. I could not even taste the dry rub at all like zero flavor. And most importantly these are not smoked ribs. There was not one bit of smoke flavor from real smoke or liquid smoke. The only flavor I had was char flavor from the ribs being traditionally grilled like a burger or hot dog. Maybe their idea of bark is char because they don't know the difference. The char flavor even overpowered the meat itself. This was quite the lesson learned spending that much money trusting a menu when it says smoked and now I will verify at future restaurants to avoid the same costly mistake. I feel like I was completely robbed and misled with false advertising. Had I known they were grilled, I would have never ordered them. If grilled ribs are your thing, these are right up your alley. If you are looking for actual smoked ribs, then you better go elsewhere. I would actually leave zero stars if I could. I'll never come back here unless I get a refund for being robbed the first time. I will say the mashed potatoes were pretty good.

The Texas style ribs and cornbread pancakes are incredible
Awful salad. Says it’s a chopped salad and it’s just a regular salad. I asked for balsamic vinaigrette dressing and got straight balsamic vinegar. If a restaurant cannot make a decent salad, take it off the menu.

We have been coming here for years but for the last year or more this place has declined sharply. I don’t have a clue where these recent 5 star reviews are coming from because any local I talk to who comes here agrees their last several visits have been bad. Steak kabobs were so tough that most of the meat was not edible. The cocktails are poorly made. The French onion soup came out Luke warm and the pork chops were very bland. Corn cakes were awesome as normal and we had one of the experienced wait staff members and she is great however many of the news staff are not good.. I hope Wagners gets back on track because they are going off the rails!
