Had the ribeye expecting a great steak. Absolute waste of money. I'll never go back.
Waiting almost 2hr from the appetizer which was amazing Gumbo...to the Wagu beef which came out cold on the outside (yes...medium rare is cool in the middle) and way undersized in portion, I found this restaurant to be very inept compared to so many that I have been in 40+ countries and 47 US states. The place did not seem very busy nor understaffed. I truly believe an outside consultant could make this place incredible. The bones are there but the place is falling on its face to perform. Please do better.

Joseph Decuis holds a special place in my/our heart(s). Before, I had my first date with my now husband, and before we were married in the courtyard, I dinned there as a single or with a friend. The service was always amazing. It became my second home, but this one had amazing food. Last night, we had squash soup, the charcuterie, waygu, and trout. All were amazing. They also have specialty cocktails and scrumptious desserts, yum! The wine list is filled with wonderful choices. We celebrated our 5th anniversary at the scene of the crime/marriage, as we always do, and it never disappoints. Thank you!
You have to try the steak. You won't be disappointed.

OMG! Thank God this place is in the middle of Indiana. I would be poor and fat if it were any closer. Wagyu is as good as advertised, maybe better. The friendliness of staff spectacular and its true farm to table. A great experience!

Every course was fabulous. I enjoyed every bite more than the last. The Tartare was a favorite!! Yes, the steaks were absolutely to die for. The staff was attentive and had such an eye for details. The place is cozy and romantic, a great place to celebrate a special occasion.

This was a prix fixe luncheon event -there were four courses with 2 wine pairing. The wine was also excellent. It is a great setting, privately owned and run, wait staff is very professional and the ‘garden room /atrium is all glass and provides a sense of being outdoors.
Service was outstanding. Specialty drinks were delicious. Fantastic wine selections. The quality of the food product was spectacular and it was made to perfection. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is one of the finest dinning experiences anywhere.
Here is the deal. Due to a time change I called to change my reservation from 6:15pm to 7pm. I was told there were no openings at 7pm or later as there was a "waiting list". I went on Open Table and changed the reservation without issue to 7pm. The restaurant at no time was more than 1/3 full, yes 2/3 empty. I don't know why they would lie, but frankly that left a bad impression. The food was great, the value was good and the service was attentive and very nice.

This is a neat place with a nice setting and a good wait staff. The food was really good, and the setting is pretty unique. The one complaint we had was that the room was really hollow sounding and made it hard to hear conversation because of the echoing. Overall, this was a good place to visit.

TIP BEFORE YOU DINE THERE IF YOU ORDER WAGYU 17 OUNCES RIBEYE: $255.00. Please read the fine print! On the menu: $75.00 to $95.00 PER 5 ounces. The waitress will tell you what the specials are but you must ask the waitress what the price would be. The ribeye was tough and I encouraged my husband to return it but he did not want to wait another 40 minutes to get his main entree again. My stuffed trout was excellent. I did call later and spoke to the manager and since we paid cash, she offered to reimburse some of the check but I declined because I will not support this establishment.

We had Mothers Day Brunch reservations here and had a great time. The food was hot and made to order. They did have a fixed menu, but they still offered a great variety. The service was friendly and professional. The atmosphere is unique. We were seated next to a large bar and an old bank vault. There was also a green house dining area. We will definitely have to be back to experience that dining room. The restroom was clean and spacious.
Parking: There is free street parking, but it can fill up fast. There is a large public parking lot about 2 blocks down. It is an easy walk on a nice day.
Kid-friendliness: Menu items are limited and may not be a great choice for kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: The front door does have steps. They may have a handicap accessible entrance, but I did not see one near the main door.

Joseph Decuis always does a wonderful job. The staff is so attentive and engaged. Even when there's a small issue, they address it with care and thoughtfulness. My husband had the waigu shoulder, which was genuinely phenomenal.
We were disappointed in our meal at Joseph Decuis. We had high expectations given its reputation. We love that it is in Roanoke. Its ingredients coming from their actual farm also makes it very appealing. The steak knife presentation was unique and fun. When you dine at a restaurant like this you expect superior service and food quality. Our server, while friendly, did not seem to be very well versed in the menu nor in the nuances of the different steaks cuts on offer for the evening. Again, one would expect a server to provide descriptive details and set expectations of what is to be served when ordering. Generally, the main service felt like what you would receive at any chain sit-down type of restaurant and less than what you would receive at a fine dining location. Our main course, seemed to take a while to be delivered, although that wasn't concerning. It did, however, come out like warm. Both the vegetable sides and the proteins were both cold. We did not receive a timely call back to raise our concern, so just continued with our meal. We decided against dessert since the entrees were so disappointing. The cocktails and the bartender were excellent, however. Overall, the experience was a disappointment. We will likely go to a place like Tolon or similar next time.
