Ausgezeichnet!
We were looking for something german, and this place came up... round trip, it was almost fifty miles out of our way. Why not... One is the best meals we had on our current travels! Highly recomend.

Not the best tasting or selection of German foods. The potatoe pancake was not a pancake but a big glob potatoe puff with a very soggy, undercooked center. The sausage plate was ok ( but you can do that at home, right) the vinegar potatoe salad was also soggy and on the small scoop side and the sauerkraut was weak. We aren’t professional cooks or German chefs but this place is not very tasty.

My husband kept saying we needed to give Schwàtzer's a try, but since I had never had German food, I was apprehensive. My advice after trying it? Don't hesitate! It is so good! I've never really cared for brisquet but theirs is so juicy and tender! And the beer cheese is perfect with fries! I look forward to trying more of the menu. We did carry out and someone actually brought our food outside to us! So friendly and courteous, we will definitely go back!
Had the Pork tenderloin sandwich. It was incredible. The coleslaw was addictive. Diffently coming back for dinner on the weekends.

Very friendly staff and owners! Brats/sausages are the best! The baked bean soup was something we'd never heard of but was amazing! We had leftovers as German food is heavy but worth it!

Authentic fresh food!! It's so rare today and this place is legit. I had a schnitzel sandwich and a homemade cucumber soup. Both were truly delicious. The cucumber soup had a small drizzle of chili oil that added a great twist! Oh man it was good! Don't forget the pretzel with cheese.... for sure the best I've had!

I wish I had gotten our waitresses' names so I could give her the recognition she deserves. 12 of us sat down she did not miss a beat and did a great job.
The food was great, the prices were very good and we will be back.

Schwätzer’s German Restaurant in Seymour is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The warm, cozy atmosphere made it feel like we were dining in someone’s home rather than a restaurant—and the staff were just as inviting. Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the food, they offered fantastic suggestions that made our meal unforgettable.
We started with the brisket egg rolls, and wow—just wow. Crispy on the outside, packed with tender brisket, sauerkraut, and melted Swiss on the inside. It’s the kind of appetizer that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate how good it is.
For mains, we went with the Jägerschnitzel and the Rouladen. The Jägerschnitzel was perfectly breaded and topped with a rich mushroom gravy that was pure comfort food. The Rouladen, with its savory blend of beef, pickle, onion, carrot, and bacon, was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Both dishes were hearty, satisfying, and incredibly well-prepared.
Overall, the experience at Schwätzer’s was top-notch. Great food, an inviting atmosphere, and service that felt personal and thoughtful. If you're anywhere near Seymour, this place is a must-visit.
