Okay for a small town like Seymour. It deserves more business than it got for Saturday lunch

If you are ever in Seymour, Indiana, and you are starving and you haven't had food in days and eating the plastic container seems like an appealing option.... still do not eat at Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi.
The Hibachi Chicken was the worst I've ever had. When I brought it to the management's attention I got excuses and claims that all of the locals like it. The manager wouldn't even try the product to see why I found it inedible. The rice tasted like burnt plastic. The hibachi chicken did not taste like it had been prepared on a hibachi nor did it taste like chicken. When I brought it to their attention the response was "you took a bite out of it now you've got to pay for it."
I told them I didn't mind paying I just wanted to have a good meal. They explained again that everybody local liked it.
I have eaten Japanese food all over the world. I've had fast-food and gas station sushi. I've had frozen dinner sushi. I've also had it in mid-grade American Japanese restaurants all over the US, and in high-quality restaurants. I'm well aware of the broad range of acceptable food can be.
I still specifically caution anyone from eating here. I left angry.

We have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the owners are always kind.
Our take out orders have never been incorrect. My favorites are the vegetable hibachi, sweet potato roll, and vegetable yakisoba.

I met my daughter and grandson there for dinner. At first, the waitress was attentive, and the crab raggoon was tasty. I ordered unsweeten tea which was foul - tasting... I even asked for lemon to see if that would help... It didn't . When the waitress came by, I asked for hot green tea and water, which she never brought. We ordered sushi... It was AWFUL . The rice used was more like a spread, very chewy. The. Contents were not recognizable. This was a poor place for us to have chosen I am a good tipper, and under tipped for the first time in a very long timeThe owners need to step up their game.

My wife went to dinner this past Wednesday at Tokyo. My wife ended up getting food poisoning from this place. I've had several other friends/family state they have gotten food poisoning from here as well. I recommend driving 15 minutes to Columbus to get sushi and not risk getting food poisoning from this place.

I love the atmosphere and the customer service of this place. The food is good. The sushi menu is diverse. The food is a bit pricey, though.I do have a few concerns. One is the variety of the rest of the menu.I know that in a small town as Seymour that the palette can only be expanded so far but perhaps a ramen menu? Japanese curry and rice? Rice bowls? These are just some ideas but I think the variety would be welcome.Second is their take-out service. The phone is often left unanswered which makes ordering food or checking on orders difficult. The restaurant is sometimes closed during hours it should be open. I have ordered food and gone to pick it up only to find locked doors and there is no doorbell or anyway to tell if anyone is there or to alert them that you are outside. Apparently some reform is necessary in this regard. The third and minor complaint is the side salad. It's all lettuce and nothing but lettuce. Perhaps some other vegetables added?Overall a small but quaint restaurant that will leave you feeling full and happy albeit leaving your wallet a little light.
