It’s been at least 30 years since I was at the sleepy owl. We went there Thursday night. Aug 28 2025. We got seated quite fast, but we sat for 20 minutes before anybody came to get a drink order. We got a drink order. It was at least another 20 minutes before the beer came. Maybe more. We had the worst service I have had probably in all of my life. We looked at menus when she finally came back we ordered an appetizer and we went ahead and ordered our dinner. It was about 30 minutes before the appetizer came. We saw people come in get served get their salad, breadsticks and their entrée While we were sitting there after we had eaten our appetizer we still had not gotten salad or breadsticks. I could not believe the poor service. It was absolutely horrible. Finally she brought the salad and the breadsticks were not done. They were still in the oven. We were so hungry we ate our salad, which seemed to me to be just an oil and vinegar dressing. It wasn’t even a vinaigrette that I would call a vinaigrette it didn’t have any seasoning or garlic or any seasoning in it at all. It was just like oil and vinegar. But we were starving. When we were done with our salad, she brought two little breadsticks to the table, they were just plain, no garlic butter or anything on top of them. Just baked bread sticks with nothing on them. It was probably another 30 minutes before our meal finally came. At this point I couldn’t even look at the waitress there was no apologies. No nothing we were there WELL over two hours just two of us. I am not the kind of person that complains because I know sometimes service can be rough. But this was absolutely the Worst I have ever experienced for many many many years. The place was emptying out. People were all leaving when we got our entrée. We ate and got out. I seriously don’t think that I will be returning.. $105.00. Before tip.

This is a great lake place with really good food. The reason I only gave it four stars is it's not quite the atmosphere I would expect from a supper Club but don't let that stop you. It's really good food and the service was excellent. They have a full bar and you can carry out also. I had the breaded pork tenderloin and it was great. Twice the size of the bun but not beat to death being so thin that it's just a crust. It still had plenty of thickness to it and taste.

If you’re anywhere near the area and haven’t been to The Sleepy Owl Supper Club, you’re seriously missing out. The pizza? Always on point—crispy, cheesy, and absolutely loaded with flavor. And don’t even get me started on the Long Islands… they’ll have you chip faced in no time 🍹😅
Our waitress Josie was an absolute gem—friendly, quick, and just the right amount of sassy. She deserves a shoutout (and a raise if you’re reading this, management!).
To top it all off, I had the privilege of meeting the owners’ son, the legendary “Nate Dawg.” The man gave me a fist bump and hit me with a “what’s up” like we were lifelong homies. Instant vibes.
All in all, this place has everything—great food, strong drinks, and top-tier people. 10/10 recommend. Can’t wait to come back.
Had a great time at The Sleepy Owl! The burger was delicious—juicy and full of flavor. Our waitress Josie was awesome… almost too nice. I’m starting to think she’s trying to win “Employee of the Year” and I’m here for it. Give that woman a raise (or at least a trophy shaped like a ketchup bottle)! I also got to meet the owner’s son(Nate Dawg), who was really nice and welcoming. Great food, great people—definitely worth a visit!

First visit to Sleepy Owl. Went for early dinner at 4pm. Please seat yourself the sign says . One other couple in the bar. Nobody spoke to us for about ten minutes. Finally a server brought us menus when we were about to leave. Bad first impression. Service was okay after that. Salad bowl was good but breadsticks not very fresh/warm.
My wife enjoyed the broiled cod with Alfred pasta. My medium ribeye was more well done. It was a good piece of steak but I didn’t realize that it had a Chef’s special glaze. The sauce was okay but excessive and overpowering teriyaki glaze. I suggest you ask for it on the side or without because I could only eat about half before my stomach started to ache. Broasted potatoes were fine.
Overall the food was pretty good but the lack of attention/staff friendliness when we arrived was a huge disappointment. Our waitress was the only person who smiled and spoke to us. Does not make you feel at home or welcome at all.
We drive a 50 mile round trip to dine in Syracuse once or twice a month. I guess we are spoiled by Down Under’s prompt friendly staff. Not sure if we want to return to Sleepy Owl even though their menu looks very good but kind of pricey. Such a letdown…
