Today was the worst I have ever had there. Service bad carry out was terrible had to go back for part of order and waitress that waited on me had no idea what she was doing

Came in around 6:15 PM and the place was empty. Had two littles with us and requested two high chairs, but the staff took us to a table and left, so we hunted those down for ourselves. After a bit the waitress came and took our order - she was very nice. Food was overly greasy and chicken was kind of slimy. We usually enjoy Bob Evans, but the food was a miss this time. Once our food was brought to the table, no one rounded on us until the check came. They were cleaning floors when we were eating and the floors were wet to exit - kind of a hazard for people. Overall, the staff need some lessons on friendliness and attentiveness, and the food needs to be up to the standards of other Bob Evans.
Kid-friendliness: Didn’t bring high chairs despite requesting them.

I am ounting this simply to share my experience in hopes management or corporate will provide more support to their staff. My partner and I went about a week ago, I got a turkey sandwich with potato soup , and my partner got an omelet. Our server was very sweet when she took our order & brought us our drinks. We then sat for a very long time waiting for our food (45mins -1 hour). This was our first time so we didn't know if this was normal. It wasn't until our server brought us our checks we realized there was a problem. We told her we haven't recieved our food yet, and she did everything she could do to make it better. We did not get offered a discount or food taken off our bill, but I did not ask for a manager because i simply just wanted to eat at this point. During our visit we could hear staff yelling about who's turn it was to be sat & seemed very disorganized. I even overheard our server say her section was Sat before she even began her shift. I hope management assures their staff know how to properly communicate & are trained properly. I also hope corporate Changes their system of running their restaurants to reflect others who provide good customer service & who are cohesive.
We used to love to come here to eat but it’s honestly just going down hill. First off, my son ordered the piggy pancake which is what he always gets. The waitress brought his food out knowing they made him the wrong thing and said “do you still want the piggy pancake?” To which he of course said yes. So she takes it and comes back with it just covered in chocolate syrup after she attempted to “draw” a pig on it. It was a mess and he couldn’t even eat it bc of all the chocolate. Then she comes back and says they forgot the chicken on my salad so she brought me some (3 small pieces of chicken” and then proceeds to pick up the pieces with her BARE HANDS (which included a bandaid on her finger) and plop it on my salad. We’ve been giving them multiple chances lately bc like I said, we used to love coming but I think today was our last visit. I also feel bad because the server was nice, but that doesn’t make up for just giving my son the wrong food instead of asking for it to be made right, or grabbing my food with your bare hands. Just gross.

My dad is 81 years old and this is his very favorite restaurant in town. I take him here every chance that I can. The food is always great the service is fantastic. I always have the 1/2 turkey meal from the 8.99 menu and it has always been absolutely the best. I can't wait to go back again.
