Finally, after years of eating here (a couple times a year) we actually had a good waitress in February; a white woman. Every time we go to La Isla (or any of the local Mexican restaurants, Real Hacienda too) we expect to have our waiter/waitress bring our food and we never see them again. Can' even flag them down, even to get our check so we can leave. Hope they keep this girl. Food is ok. Nothing to rave about. Kind of bland, but that seems to be the theme of food in Indiana, bland. What makes it worse is the price increase lately. Finding it hard to pay that much for mediocre bland food and no service.

The staff are rude. They will not take your order over the phone correctly. They will not acknowledge you when you walk in. They want cash but will not tell you up front. They want you to cash app them. Very unprofessional and cheap greasy food.

This used to be a nice Mexican restaurant. Recently though , the food quality hasn't kept up with their pricing, especially the 16% increase reflected on their most recent "new" menus. All of the "basic" dishes are $12 and up. Three mediocre steak tacos is $15.
This trip had the carnitas, three huge pieces of beautifully marinated and cooked with all of the usual sides. Absolutely FANTASTIC!

Pretty good Mexican restaurant. Usually no problem with my order however last time 3 out of 4 items were slightly wrong. Nothing major and it was still edible. They either didn't leave off something per request and also didn't remember to put cheese and lettuce in the tacos. Only downfall is if you leave the restaurant with a carryout order and find it is wrong when you get home they will not make it right. So you better check your to go order before you walk out the door.Kid-friendliness: A good family restaurant. They have adequate seating to seat a large party. Good place to meet up with your family and friends with everyone's children.
