It's been at least 10-15 years since I've last been to Stookey's and was so nice to return for a special occasion. They immediately took me back to the room where party was being held. The onion rings were just as good as I remember (very crispy and thin!) Tried the catfish and was not disappointed; everyone who ordered ribeye said it was delicious too. We enjoyed a wonderful night with friends and family and greatly appreciate the wait staff who made it possible.

Stookey's is a wonderful hometown family restaurant and bar (with a small banquet room) that you need to visit! The food is out of this world. The pork tenderloin sandwiches and onion rings were spectacular! Seriously, the onion rings were amazing—likely the best I have ever had. The waitress was also great; she was helpful and attentive without hovering. If you're in Thorntown, IN, you'll find really good food and service here.

Tonight I had the three piece catfish dinner with baked potato and salad. Special price was $17.99. It was delicious. My wife had the 8oz filet with baked potato and cottage cheese with pineapple. Hers was also a special for $24.99. All of the food was delicious. I also had a piece of their sugar cream pie for dessert. All the food was cooked perfectly. The service at Stookey’s is also always excellent. In order to save room for dessert, I had to bring home 1/2 of my potato and one of my catfish. So I still have another dinner too! We love Stookey’s.
Best steak and onion rings. Steak was tender and tasty, onion rings were huge and delicious. Service was outstanding.
