First of all, I don't like not having a person to take your order. We had questions and no one to ask.. it was just not personal at all.. my garlic burger had way too much garlic but my grandson loved his burger.. he accidently spilled pop on the floor and the staff wasn't very helpful.. the cook came over with a couple napkins.. like I said, the food was good, the atmosphere ok but the service was next to none. Probably won't be returning.

I just recently started eating at stake n shake, only because we don't have one that's really close enough for us to just go to when we want. But I've been traveling a lot here lately, and every time i see a sign saying there's a location close by, i always talk my boyfriend into stopping there to eat. They have one of the best burgers i think I've ever eaten. I get it every time i go. It's a garlic and buttered bun that's fried on the grill. Then i have grilled onions, mayonnaise, lettuce and cheese put on it and OMG it is so amazing! And this place has some of the best shakes ever. I always get the Reese peanut butter shake with extra peanut butter, and it is so amazing. All of their food is good. Another thing i love about this location is the self service touch screen menu. You can customize anything you want making ordering so much more convenient. Not only for the customer, but for the employees as well. The food and shakes were spot on, the store was clean and the service and staff were also great. Love it when a restaurant knows what the hell they're doing, because that makes for happy, returning customers.

The food has definitely improved since the last time I was here. Had garlic steak burger tonight and everything came out hot. Just wish they would bring back the Cajun burger again that was the best.

For years, when we ve gotten chilli there, theyve messed it up by slathering it w onions almost everytime to the point where we finally had to start practically begging them not to do it everytime..its not supposed to even come w onions.but it always has anyway. My girlfriend went there a few weeks ago, requested chili, hold the onions, and the lady taking the order practically bit her head off for asking for no onions bc " it doesnt come w it".. i overheard the whole conversation and this lady running drive thru was rude af. Your upper management needs to go clean house at vincennes indiana steak n shake. Some of Your employees are terrible and they have been for years now. The customer is always right and u should never tell a customer to just leave as opposed to maybe solving the long recurring problem at your location. You all are lucky i wasnt actually in the car that day. If you dont want to be in food service then quit and do the world a favor. Dont take it out on the customer.

It was disappointing the way things have changed since covid. Had to order at a kiosk, hate that. Had to go to the counter to get food, 4 other people in the dining area. It was clean, fairly comfortable, if not a bit on the cool side. Burger was very greasy, smaller than I remembered, and onion rings were good. No server, but kiosk wanted a tip, hummmm.
Went through drive thru. The person doing drive thru seemed to be in a hurry. While ordering my food he continued to ask is that all, when I asked to add a shake to my order he once again asked is that all. Pulled up to pay and he didn't say anything handed me my order and still never said anything. I had the mushroom burger it was good the fries nice and hot.
Our experience was absolutely terrible. Not a single employee spoke to us, every inch of the floor was dirty and sticky. The food tasted terrible, 3 of us ordered meals and hardly touched them. They had an odor and tasted spoiled. Wouldn’t recommend this location for my dogs.

I’m not surprised by the negative reviews that I’ve seen previous to mine. I’m visiting my dad from Indiana and came and ordered my meal on the kiosk. I paid for 3 drinks and 3 meals. The manager was staring me and the people I was with down like we were stealing drinks from them. The lady proceeded to confront us saying we only bought 2 drinks not 3. We went to show her the receipt to show her in fact we did buy 3. She continued to be rude and then failed to apologize for being rude, especially to customers who just spent money at their business. Good luck Steak ‘n Shake, no wonder all the Indiana ones shut down lol.
