It was disappointing the way things have changed since covid. Had to order at a kiosk, hate that. Had to go to the counter to get food, 4 other people in the dining area. It was clean, fairly comfortable, if not a bit on the cool side. Burger was very greasy, smaller than I remembered, and onion rings were good. No server, but kiosk wanted a tip, hummmm.

Went through drive thru. The person doing drive thru seemed to be in a hurry. While ordering my food he continued to ask is that all, when I asked to add a shake to my order he once again asked is that all. Pulled up to pay and he didn't say anything handed me my order and still never said anything. I had the mushroom burger it was good the fries nice and hot.Parking: Nice big parking lot.
Our experience was absolutely terrible. Not a single employee spoke to us, every inch of the floor was dirty and sticky. The food tasted terrible, 3 of us ordered meals and hardly touched them. They had an odor and tasted spoiled. Wouldn’t recommend this location for my dogs.

I’m not surprised by the negative reviews that I’ve seen previous to mine. I’m visiting my dad from Indiana and came and ordered my meal on the kiosk. I paid for 3 drinks and 3 meals. The manager was staring me and the people I was with down like we were stealing drinks from them. The lady proceeded to confront us saying we only bought 2 drinks not 3. We went to show her the receipt to show her in fact we did buy 3. She continued to be rude and then failed to apologize for being rude, especially to customers who just spent money at their business. Good luck Steak ‘n Shake, no wonder all the Indiana ones shut down lol.

Went Vincennes Ind restaurant on January 24, 2024 went through drive thru. Ordered 2shakes both were only half full . Ask why and told that’s how they’re made . Sandwiches didn’t have what we ordered didn’t realize till we were on the interstate. Make sure you’re order is right before leaving for the price.

Food overpriced. Especially the shakes.My 1st visit was during the training phase. There were constantly more employees than customers. Yet service was not good enough.A couple later visits still found the food items way overpriced. Service lacking, possibly due to understaffing. Or employees attitudes.I'm very doubtful I'll visit any S&S store in the future.There is a Ponderosa Steak House, with a decent buffet and fair prices less than 2 blocks away from S&S. Go there, or elsewhere people.

The whole kiosk thing needs to go, you have to order your own food, get up when they call your name, get your own drink, clean your own table and they ask for tip on kiosk why would I tip you when you did nothing that made steak and shake just another fast food restaurant. The staff was rude my husband ask for a to go box and the girl literally threw a stack of like 5 on the counter. I ordered a strawberry shake and the cup wasn't even 2/3 rds full. Guess they figured out away to put themselves completely out of business.
I'm not a fan of the kiosk ordering they have at this location a group of my coworkers ate there and we were eating 30 min apart also I waited 20 min on a milk shake just to find out it was siting on the counter for who knows how long and never had my name called when it was ready.

There's no such thing as a bad burger at Steak n Shake! This particular one doesn't have the 'scan to fill your drink' system, and that's a good thing...too much is automated nowadays as it is. Good food though!
