The atmosphere is worth coming for. A couple things on the menu were outstanding like the spinach artichoke dip, but the steak and burgers fell a little flat. Great service and enjoyed the experience!

Had a Christmas Eve meal at this restaurant in the atrium of the West Baden Hotel. Terrific waitress and service, and a fantastic view of the dome with the large Christmas tree serving as a focal point for people milling about. The food was good, not great. I had been anticipating the French Onion soup and it didn't quite meet my expectation. The penne dish was rich and required a bite or two of the peppermint creme brulee as a refresher. The live piano Christmas tunes really helped to set a peaceful vibe. Eat here for the view and Sinclair's for the food.

Let me begin by saying that I have traveled most of Europe while living in Germany for 20 years
I drove truck hauling heavy equipment in the lower 48 states and Canada.
The reason I'm explaining my travels is to give no doubt I have visited almost every type of restaurant and eaten all types of food
My wife and I chose to eat at the Dome in French Lick on New Years day for a special treat to her.
We chose the Atrium and Ballard's to view the Dome.
Drink order went well with our waiter (no miller lite) and once the drinks arrived, we ordered.
Appetizers were Artichoke Spinach dip and Tomota bisque with real cream.
She ordered Steak Frites med well done.
I chose Blackened salmon with rice, paplando pepper, and corn.
Artichoke dip was fresh baked ( ? ) but looked very dark on crusty top.
After showing her disgust at first bite , I chose to take a spoon full too. It honestly tasted old , had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Even I make one better!! Tried to salt it . Nope ! 2/3 went back uneaten.
Tomato Basil was col at top and Luke warm downwards. Also after 4-5 spoonfuls I started to feel bloated and tasting a sourness. Done with that !
Main course came out and we were both skeptical of it being a flop or not.
Steak was tender and tasteful according to Mrs. But potatoes were not fries but long cut boiled 😐
Blacked salmon 😋 was rice parlando pepper and corn in a cream like sauce filling the plate nicely displayed with salmon in center. However !! Who in their right ..... minds puts a gob of some kind of red sauce (bbq, pasta) on top of salmon.
Rice was somewhat tasty but not my cup if tea.
Red sauce definitely led me to be a strict believer in plain salmon with lemon.
So my conclusion to this restaurant visit is that when you drop a 150 $ on a treat to yourselves then I should be giving 5 stars not 1 and 2. Actually food only got 1 star because the Mrs liked her Steak.
Service was polite but requires help of an extra waitress to order a 2nd drink.
We definitely won't be back as the Dining in the Dome was a bigger flop years ago.

The Signature Ballard's Burger is really good! The location is excellent! Reservations are required.
Service could use some coaching. We were not brought silverware, napkins, plates or ask what we wanted to drink.

Nice place to eat in West Baden. A lovely view of the inside of the dome allows for a fun culinary environment. During the holidays, it is wonderful to have the Christmas tree as a backdrop.

Neat place to visit, especially during the holiday season. The giant Christmas tree is a fun sight! The museum is small but really neat if you like to learn the history of the place.
Ballard's in the Atrium is one of my favorite places at West Baden Springs Resort. The restaurant is along the inside curve of the hotel right in the middle of all the action. The food and service was great and the bar is pretty cool looking. We had breakfast and lunch here, and is nice to grab a drink before heading back up to the room.

As a one-time diner, I have to say it was a really cool atmosphere dining in the grand atrium of the historical West Baden Hotel. The waygu burgers were very good but definitely not cheap. Prices are a bit high but not insane. The menu is not too extensive, but the food I saw at other tables looked really good.

The atmosphere here is amazing but the food rather lackluster. The kids meals were satisfactory. I had a margherita pizza with which was ok. My husband had the shrimp and grits, also just so so.

View is the only good things. Food and drinks were extremely disappointing. Pasta and burgers lacked flavor and the dome dessert was old and stale too.
