We came in for the first time for lunch on our way to Brookville. The Tavern Burger, onion rings and bean soup were delicious. Some guy I know told me the chicken sandwich and fries were very good. Shared a piece of peanut butter pie, which was so hard to do since it was the best we ever had. Our server was great with our order coming out like it should. We will definitely return.

BEST fried chicken ever! Amazing cole-slaw and I'm not a cole-slaw gal. Mashed potatoes and gravy soooo good.

If you don’t stop at this place while in the area, scratch that, drive to this place from where you are!!!! The service is great, the atmosphere is an 1860 bar, what else can you say about that! The fried chicken is amazing!!!! Crunchy on the outside, moist and tender and extremely hot on the inside!!! I wish I would have found this place on my first day in Indiana, not my last, but I will be back!!! Wife had the French bread pizza, which was home made and really delicious!! So no pictures. Go find out for yourself!!

Very good fried chicken, best we’ve ever had - it’s the seasoning/skin that is to write home about, very peppery - not spicy. The chicken itself is always flavorful and moist. Just a little old time tavern type restaurant, that you must try! I’ve only had the fried chicken, can’t bring myself to try anything else bc I just want the chicken lol. Their specials are great options with a great price. Desserts are to die for. They’re homemade. Honorable mention to Coconut Cream, Blackberry and Peanut Butter Pie. Monday is their fried chicken special.

Went with a group and were waited on by the owner. Cute place, not too noisy and well attended at lunch time. Note: there is no sign to identify it.
Food was good and plentiful. Fried chicken takes awhile, so don't be in a hurry.

The Fried Chicken is one of the best around. Forget Wagners in Batesville this place is just as good if not better. Onion rings are awesome as well

The chicken! The best fried chicken I've ever had. A friend told me about this place a few years ago when I lived in Indy and every time I'm in the area I stop in for the chicken. I live in mid- Michigan now, and it's still worth the 6 hour drive to eat here.

Hamburger was dry and under seasoned. A bit over cooked for me but to be fair, I didn't ask if they offered different cooking temps. I will be back to try to other items I saw on the menu. I'll post a review for each dish.
