First time visiting this restaurant. My wife had the Mac Tavern salad and I had the 4 piece fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. We both enjoyed our meals and will definitely return. It is off the beaten path and signage is about nonexistent. Don't let the pictures of the chicken scare you. I honestly didn't taste the pepper even though it was very visible in the breading. We had multiple servers and all of them were pleasant, but it made the service seem a little hit and miss, but still good.

I gave a 1 star because that was the lowest...we went on Jan.9 2026 waited 15 minutes no help they where busy so I went to the bar and finally I was able to put my name in they said around 20 minutes took my phone number we left we had a feeling it would be much longer ( 1 hour and 20 minutes later) I thanked her for the call we understood due to the IU game. We thought we'd try again (Jan.16)..wait not to long had to go ask again she said seat yourself we did sat for 15 minutes they walked in and out never even gave us a look. We left and will never be back to many chicken places around.....This Tavern came highly recommended...

Awesome local tavern. I had the fried chicken and the fried green beans and both of them were fantastic. Both the patrons and the staff were really friendly. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was standing room only, so be prepared to wait, even at off times. I will say, the wait was worth it!

Extremely cool place to stop. This is a classic small town bar/tavern with a simple menu but everything was excellent. Super friendly waitresses, they were friendly with us and treated us like we were regulars. Very reasonably priced. We got cauliflower as an appetizer, the pork tenderloin sandwiches and the chicken sandwich. The appetizer was good, highly recommend the chipotle ranch. The tenderloin was delicious and hit the spot since we don’t have them near our home… but the chicken sandwich, we all felt a little sad that we didn’t also get it because it was the best bite of a chicken sandwich I have ever stolen from my daughter. It does NOT have signage, so just trust your GPS, it’s right across the street from the church.

We came in for the first time for lunch on our way to Brookville. The Tavern Burger, onion rings and bean soup were delicious. Some guy I know told me the chicken sandwich and fries were very good. Shared a piece of peanut butter pie, which was so hard to do since it was the best we ever had. Our server was great with our order coming out like it should. We will definitely return.
