I stopped by McDonald's about once a year, usually when I get home later in the evening or night. As a matter of fact, this was the first time I've stopped at this McDonald's since moving back to Indiana one year ago.
The service was fine, and the kids were kind who were working. However, the attention to the value was very poor. This could be mandated by McDonald's itself, the franchise owner or just laziness on the worker.
The french fries I received, as you can see from the picture, was definitely not a large order. My dog and I did eat a few on the way home, but I can tell as I reached in the bag the carton was not full. I thought maybe half of them had fallen out in the bag, but that was not the case. Now I know why they have pictures of fries on the inside of the carton, because that's all you see when you get them. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat those.
According to research, McDonald's profit margin on french fries is estimated to be between 75–90%. The cost of making french fries is generally around $1.50 per pound of potatoes. While the average price of a menu item has increased by 40% since 2019, you would think, in order to keep people coming back, a restaurant would actually want to make it worth the value, especially because they aren't losing money on erring on the side of giving you more than enough fries for your order. They could at least give you the appropriate amount.
So, I've had my McDonald's fixed, and I got my McRib. I probably won't stop by Whitestown McDonald's, or any McDonalds again, for that matter, for another year or more. And that will definitely be the case if they aren't going to give me what I pay for.
Also, as you can see from the picture, it may be good not to lay the fries on top of the napkins, as the grease soaked all through them. I know some grease would get on them if you laid that at the top as well but perhaps less
