Great servers!
Excellent experience.
1st time visit. Nice atmosphere.
We had a party of 16 adults last night. The service and food was exceptional! The waitress was able to keep up with drink orders which is sometimes hard to do for a group of so many adults. Everyone's food was delicious and arrived hot. Again, with a big group, this is not always the case. We will definitely be back! With so many great choices on the menu, we may have to go back multiple times! 😋 We're all about
1/2 hr to 45 minutes away but definitely worth the drive!
This was the worst experience I've had in a long time.
After reading this restaurant was rated the second best in Indiana, we decided to give it a try. A mistake we won't make again.
We were seated quickly but it took 20 minutes for them to take our drink order. Another twenty for our app order. At the 1 hour mark, we finally received our apps. This was the best thing about our time there. The pretzel nuggets were delicious. The salsa and queso were good but very runny. (I suspect they're watering it down.)
Now on to the meals; two of us ordered burgers (a double and a whiskey burger) with wedges. One ordered a salad, and the last ordered the stuffed meatloaf. 3/4 of us hardly ate out meals. And the 4th didn't eat their wedges.
What could be so wrong, you ask?
I'll break it down by meal:
The salad was full of hard pieces that should had been thrown out. The tomatoes tasted like they were on the verge on going bad. Extremely watery, basically only good for cooking. The cucumbers... there was something off about them. Possibly improperly stored. And the croutons were absolutely disgusting. At first, they tasted like nothing but then you're hit with a plasticy after taste that doesn't leave.
Now for the burgers: Both came burnt. I'm not talking a little charred, I'm talking BURNT. So burnt that when you peeled the burnt part off, half the patty was missing. Each ordered wedges; one with garlic parmasean added. Both were burnt, hard, nearly impossible to eat. The garlic parm ones were missing the garlic. The plain ones were so salty, you'd think they came from McDonald's. Neither were eaten.
Lastly, the stuffed meatloaf. It was undercooked, enough that we could see it under the dim lighting. (Their reply says it was the ham. It wasn't.)
One more thing to add is that two people also got baked potatoes. Both were extremely dark (just like the wedges.) My opinion is that they may have a heat lamp food sits under forever until it's served. (Again, their reply says they weren't, yet the potatoes were nearly black. Unless they are using some kind of new black potato, these were definitely cooked or heated too long.)
Our orders were over $90. We spent over two hours there, mostly just waiting. Its extremely loud and you can hardly hear your table speak (the tables are packed together so you'll hear the four adjacent tables.) This could be forgiven if the food was good, but it wasnt.
My advice would be to skip this place. Or only get apps. Maybe it was a bad night (the waitresses were certainly running around like crazy; ours was obviously grumpy) but it certainly wasn't worth our money.
[We eat at a newrestaurant weekly and I can say this is the worst we've been to in years.]
Food was very delicious, the whiskey burger was on point, the pub steak was delicious steak was delicious and also the crab dip was very delicious as well.
However I'm only giving them a four stars because the Pop tasted like well water in the water had like a crazy taste. Other than that everything was delicious.
So so good! Spinach chicken was savory and tender, pineapple rum cake was sweet and flavorful.
Everything was fresh and the staff is so cheerful.
And quiet! Even when it was filling up for dinner time the sounds of patrons didn’t carry too far. I could drift into my thoughts and pineapple cake.
Will absolutely be back
Stuffed mushrooms are fabulous. One of the best tenderloins I've had in a while.
We drive from West Lafayette to Wolcott for Roots Eatery as a destination. Great food, especially the pork medallions and beef entrees, at a reasonable price for the quality. Highly recommend. Good craft beer selection. Would add photos but we ate everything.
Excellent small town restaurant with locally produced food. 10/10

So good trust bro
A nicely furnished pub with good food. The pretzel nuggets were great. The tenderloin had a light breading and tasted great. The chili was good. The portions were large. This would be a good stop between Chicago and Indy. The only downside for this stop is no EV
charger in Wolcott. Definitely stopping here again.
Very nice and clean. Perfect prices in a modern, classy, quiet setting with welcoming staff and the food was amazingly delicious and very well cooked. It was a really great 1st time experience. Highly recommend and call in advance to make a reservation. Highly recommend the green beans!!
