The chicken and sides were good except the Cole slaw. My husband had a steak and it was terrible. Lots of fat and gristle. The older lady at the cash register is very very rude. She was being rude to a couple as we came in and then was rude to us as we checked out. Big signs on the check out counter that says “prefer cash”. When we came in, there was a gentleman there trying to pay for a group of people and he wanted her to separate the check and she told him no and and that he had to pay for it all and then go get the money himself from everyone else at his table. When we made our reservations online, it’s simply asked if we wanted chicken or steak didn’t give us an option of what type of steak so when we checked out she was like what kind of steak did you have? My husband told her he don’t Know they didn’t give him a choice and she rudely said you ate a steak and you don’t know what kind it was? Are going to because you enjoyed the hotel years ago don’t waste your time. You will be disappointed

Not like it use to be!! Sides were sorta warm, chicken not bad, lid on bottle dropped on floor picked up by server put back on bottle. Silverware was handed without napkins. Mold spores on ceiling. Ceiling was falling. Must not have inspectors.

We came here on a Thursday evening at 5. We were the only table in the restaurant. Kind of awkward...
The fried chicken was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes weren't very hot but the gravy was good and made up for it. The creamed corn was fantastic! Wish we got more. Ice cream was just okay. Our server was very nice.
I just thought it would be busier based on previous reviews and the chicken is advertised as pan fried and it is not. It was just okay for the price.

We went during an off time and ate in the Taphouse. The service was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was great. The decor was unique and reflected the history of the area. The food was OK. My husband got the fried chicken that they are famous for but said it was disappointing since he had heard so much about it and it was, in his words, not anything special. I got the chicken tenders and they were just typical restaurant chicken tenders, again, nothing special. I'd say it's worth a stop for the experience, if nothing else. I also can't speak for the Brookville restaurant side of the business as we did not eat there and it is a different dining experience.

Not what it used to be. Glad I have the recipe cards for the AMAZING corn and coleslaw they used to serve. Both bowls of corn were cold, coleslaw is a different recipe than the original. Pickles were still good. Chicken was good. But so sad that those sides aren't like they used to be. Google the original recipes that you could buy on postcards. I've used them for 40 years at least and they are amazing!

The meat on the French Dipped sandwich was in chunks and was chewy. It also lacked flavor. The fries were not good either. The buffalo chicken wrap was okay but I have had much better. The food was pricey considering the quality. Will not eat here again.

Very unique window to the past! Excellent steaks sourced from their local ranch!

Surprise ending !
The meal and service were very good. However, they neglected to tell us drinks were extra, so I added soda.
Then after a nice meal was asked if we would like me refills, I said sure but wanted to limit soda so asked if I could switch to coffee. The waitress was very kind and said sure. It was good coffee also.
So here the catch.
There is no Menu. They place a bill that said chicken and emphasized it is served family style.
Had no idea it was going to cost an extra $8+ for for a 8oz soda and a cup of coffee!🫣

Best filet I've had in years. Full of flavor, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Their menu is very limited, but if you like chicken or steak it's worth a visit.

Been eating at the Bville for over 20 years ! Wonderful and the fried chicken is delicious. Now it is owned by the Munson’s who ran a fabulous steak house in Junction city. All the meat comes from the Munson’s farm. The steak is as great as the chicken. The historic atmosphere is unmatched. There is a historic museum upstairs showing the hotel rooms as they were a century or more ago. The bar tap room has gorgeous murals too. Friendly and quality service. Enjoy!!!
