Best filet I've had in years. Full of flavor, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Their menu is very limited, but if you like chicken or steak it's worth a visit.

Nice comfort food. The filet was supreme. Kind waitress. Casual pace.

Been eating at the Bville for over 20 years ! Wonderful and the fried chicken is delicious. Now it is owned by the Munson’s who ran a fabulous steak house in Junction city. All the meat comes from the Munson’s farm. The steak is as great as the chicken. The historic atmosphere is unmatched. There is a historic museum upstairs showing the hotel rooms as they were a century or more ago. The bar tap room has gorgeous murals too. Friendly and quality service. Enjoy!!!

I have been here twice over the last couple years. Get the chicken dinner, I think the chicken steak could use a rework, everything else was great including the service.

We ate at the restaurant as it was recommended by the service desk at our hotel next door. I was never able to cut even one bite of my chicken fried steak. I had to leave the whole thing uneaten. And then my husband found a long black hair in his chicken. (He’s bald and I have white hair.) We just got up from the table, paid our bill and left. Never told anyone.

Something's Fishy

I used to love stopping at The Brookville when passing through the area. This past experience will be the last.

The food was terrible. Service, meh. Do not order the chicken fried steak. It was the worst I’ve ever attempted to eat. The beloved coleslaw, I have no idea what recipe they followed. It wasn’t the same as it’s been consistently over the years. Even the ice cream sucked. I paid way too much to money for this $25 per person meal. The only decent item was the creamed corn. I should have complained. I should have refused to pay for the slop, but I smiled and waved boys, and will never be back.

The food was decent and the history is super cool, but the experienced was soured by a very rude employee. I have literally never left a review in my life, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I felt inclined to say something. My mom wanted to bring the whole family to experience this restaurant where she’d had a great experience in years past. Our waitress was nice and the man that bussed our tables was very sweet, but the woman who brought us to our table and then rang out our ticket at the end was extremely rude. We tried to pay part cash and part card (it was a large group), but she told us we couldn’t which we said was fine. But then when we wanted to leave a tip in cash (a generous one) she said we were required to tip with the same card payment. After flipping the card reader around to show us the tip options, she reached over and selected the 20% tip option for us. On top of that, the tip wasn’t even calculated based on the subtotal, but the total including tax! While this all was slightly frustrating in itself, the worst part of all was that she was extremely rude and impatient about the entire thing. We would have loved to have left our nice waitress a generous cash tip, but now I just hope none of the tip went to her. She was rude from the moment she showed us to our seats. Ruined the whole experience.

We were extremely pleased with our meal at Brookville Restaurant and TapHouse Bar. The atmosphere is like an old hotel from the 1870s. The menu is sort of like a prix fix. The fried chicken is excellent and includes all of the sides. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. The old hotel rooms on the second floor are really fun to explore and the TapHouse bar is worth another five stars. Really fun and great food.

The fried chicken was a bit overrated since it could use some more seasoning, the breast was a little bit dry. At least the breading was well-seasoned. The sides especially the fruits were overrated to since the pears had a slight mealy texture to it. On the bright side, the mashed potatoes and creamed corn were delicious along with the rolls. The cole slaw was a little too sweet. The ice cream however was not very creamy since there were some ice chunks in it. The dining room was well-decorated with late 19th-century era furnishings and decorations. The experience was good since I've came in with an empty stomach, left with my stomach full at the end of the meal including ice cream, and the staff were friendly.

Just as good as advertised. The fried chicken dinner was plentiful, crispy and juicy. The biscuits tasty. Dinner included corn, Cole slaw and mashed potatoes with gravy. More than half had to be packed up to bring home. So delicious!!

I rarely give 5-stars anywhere in the world. But this place is great. To answer a question many may have since the website isn't clear, you don't choose 1-2 sides from those listed. Instead you get them ALL! Family style sides are included with your protein.

I'd recommend a reservation but most days I bet they can squeeze you in. So you choose your meal online and arrive with your ticket ready at the counter. You're seated and immediately a plate of peaches, sweet apples, sweet pickles and cold slaw comes out, all very good. Then with your main course you get family style (including refills) sweet corn, masked potatoes and brown gravy, rolls and maybe something else. We got enough on this $25/person meal that we took home enough for two more meals. Oh and then you get homemade ice cream.

Can't recommend enough great place to dine. Enjoy!
