The sushi rolls were as fresh as you could get them in the Midwest. The smoked salmon sashimi had a really good flavor! The crab rangoon was warm, crispy, and fairly flavorful. The gyoza was also warm, crispy, and had good flavor as well. There were plenty of options to choose from on the menu. The service could use some work, though. Not very friendly or welcoming. The soft drinks were brought to the table in a can. When I asked about getting a mixed drink from the bar, they said that they couldn't make it even though they had the alcohol on display. I'm not sure if I will return to this restaurant to try the other menu items.

Sushi was good, one roll was unable to stay together (rice) but flavor was good as was presentation. Did not like using reusable chopsticks from a communal container, which I couldn’t verify was clean in the bottom. Bathroom was unclean, we were there around 1 pm on a Friday. Waitstaff seemed concerningly melancholy. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and do plan to be back because overall I came for the sushi, and it delivered. Will probably do takeout next time to avoid the social aspect with waitstaff and obligatory tipping.

we ordered stuffed jalepenos, 2 rolls, chicken fried rice and lobster rangoon. Cream cheese in rolls tasted way off. rice in rolls and fried rice was very dry. chicken was overdone and very dry. Soup that came with roll was definately not clear broth and tasted a bit like fish. Salad that also came with roll had lettuce that was all brown. Probably one of the worst places we have eaten from.

I went late after 7 on a random Tuesday evening. It was nice, quiet and friendly staff. Sushi is great, it’s all I tried so far.

There was part of a sponge in my soup. It was pretty small but definitely noticeable.

Great sushi. Definitely come for the sushi. Our waitress was on it tonight. Very attentive. However, 1 out of 3 meals came out 10-15 minutes before the other 2 meals were served.

I had high hopes for this place from reading reviews. I took my family here for lunch, there was only one other table in there at the time. The server seemed very depressed and over whelmed with other things other than tables. The chairs were sticky, the floors were gross. The server gave us a box of tissues, instead of extra napkins. There was child graffiti on the walls on the way to the bathrooms. The bathrooms looked like they haven't been cleaned in months (hair on toilets and urine everywhere). How does this pass inspections!? Our food came out..they didn't have fries for my children, so they got rice and chicken nuggets. I had the chicken box (horrible) my mother had 2 different sushi rolls and said we will never be back. The man that made the sushi was helpful and sweet.

The waitress we had was very stone faced and never smiled. The steak was very over seasoned and gristly. I was not really happy with the food or service at all. Lion King roll was very good though.

Compared to other sushi places around Wichita, Sakana is way better bang for your buck. Sakana has main dishes of sushi that go up to $16 at the most and you always get 8 giant rolls. The appetizers come out fast and the food comes out before you can finish the appetizers. My favorite is the Phoenix roll and lion king. Best appetizers are the lobster rangoon and anything tempura

I must have visited on a bad day. I was the only one there so the service was great! I like the look of the inside and everything seemed clean. That evening I was definitely not feeling well and into the next day. I did recover and have visited this restaurant before without incident. The food tasted fine, but something must have slipped through.

I think I got food poisoning on my first visit, but couldn’t prove it.Second visit, got even ruder and less personal service than before.I waited by the mens room when I couldn’t open it for minutes assuming it was in use until the daughter of the owners came and said that it was out of order.Never was asked for refills, or if everything was ok with our food. The place was dirty, and some kid had marked over all around the bathrooms with a marker.
If the health department doesn't shut this place down I would be shocked. The straws and chop sticks are sitting out, unwrapped on the table for any little kids to stick up their nose and put back in the container. The sushi does not taste fresh and my fried roll came out cold and missing ingredients. I was informed after I asked about the missing ingredients that they were out of Caviar. Why didn't they tell me that when I ordered it? A man and his son were here at the same time and the gentleman had to come to the front bar to get his drink refilled then sent his son to take care of the bill with his card. The waitress was clueless and obviously not attentive. They still charged me for the roll after I politely expressed my dissatisfaction. Hopefully they didn't spit in my daughter's fried rice which I had ordered to go...
This is literally the best sushi restaurant in the Kansas. Maybe the world. 10/10.the rolls in the picture are cowboy roll, firestone roll, and las vegas roll.

Kid-friendliness: yes
Parking: yes
Wheelchair accessibility: yes
Dietary restrictions: Girlfriend cant eat shellfish, they have several non-fish sushi options. I recommend the cowboy roll and substitute the crab with avocado.
