My friend and I stopped in to eat here when we took a trip to Atchison KS last week for our birthdays.. The atmosphere was comfy, the owner was a delight, she had a cute story and the most beautiful accent, she's Greek. I ordered the Chicken Madeira.. It was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had, we also had a lavender Martini, my first Martini ever and never had a lavender one.. LOL.. it was delicious. The owners own special drink. I would recommend anyone to stop in and go back again and again was well worth it.

I had never eaten at Pete’s and I was told it is a “great” place to eat. I called in a lunch order to go. Based on the menu, it appeared to offer better than the run of the mill fast food style cuisine. I ordered the Fish & Chips- here’s how the menu presented it: FISH & CHIPS Battered pollock fried to a golden brown. Served with seasoned truffle fries and our house made remoulade 14.5 Unfortunately, the quality of the food was below what one might anticipate at a Captain D’s or Long John Silver. Literally, it was 1 piece of almost paper-thin fish that came right out of a package. The fries weren’t bad, but not worth $14.50! First impressions = lasting impact I will NEVER order from or dine in at the place again. FTR – the gentleman who took my order and settled up with me was pleasant and kind – NOT his fault. Take my word for it, the folks may be nice enough, but the food is downright less than average fast food quality.

Pete’s looks like it might be nothing special, but it is. My family was pleasantly surprised at the fresh, great tasting salads, the generous portions, and the delightful friendly service. The sirloin and pastitio were excellent and the baklava was incredible.

First time eating here, food was quick to come out. I ordered the surf and turf, only complaint was there were only 2 shrimp...kind of was expecting at least 3 for the price difference from the 8oz to adding the shrimp. My boys ordered the catfish... So good! Would recommend this place!

The pita for the Gyro seemed old. It was falling apart when I picked it up. The two pasta dishes were bland, especially the carbonara. Even the side Caesar salads had little taste.
Our server seemed more interested in talking to the cook, then checking on us. Lots of time waiting, then I got up and went to the kitchen.
I've been to Pete's many times over the years and I was disappointed. It wasn't cheap either for what we received.

3rd Time this year I've walked in and was ignored!!!..the Owner's Wife was too busy chatting with other people and she's a hostess.. plus took forever to get my food.. I don't blame the waitress she had her hands full .. But I told the Owners..last time I'll Ever Come In Here Again.. been a Customer for 20 years but not anymore oh and had to get my own napkins too might as well cooked my own food also ??
Food is exceptional we usually come here before the movies next door and service is always great as well. It is a little crowded walking through and the booths are very close together
