I’ve tried—twice now—to shop at The Sweet Witch in Augusta, and honestly I’m done wasting my time. I love supporting local businesses, but it’s pretty hard to “shop local” when the business acts like you need an invitation just to spend money there.
Both times I reached out, I got nothing but excuses and vague runaround answers. It felt less like a business and more like trying to get into some secret club where the rules change depending on who you are. Meanwhile, other customers seem to get instant service while I’m left filling in the blanks.
At this point, it’s clear to me that The Sweet Witch picks and chooses who they want to sell to, and if you’re not on whatever invisible list they have, good luck. After two tries, I’m taking my money somewhere that actually wants it.
Shop local? I tried. They made it impossible.

These are the best cookies around! And my husband and I used to own a cookie company. These are better than ours. The Sweet Witch’s cookies are exactly what I dreamed a sugar cookie would taste like. The only way I can describe them is heaven in your mouth! Everyone I’ve given her cookies to, does that thing where your eyes roll in the back of your head and you look at the rest of the cookie in your hand like it holds the answer to World Peace. Yeah, they are that good.
