Big Ed's is worth a detour off of the interstate. Rustic and clean atmosphere, friendly service, and hearty home-cooked food. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. I had the Big Ed's Cut Ribeye with a baked potato and a salad. The green beans and bread were not necessarily expected but very delicious. The steak was cooked how I wanted and tasted delicious. Fantastic steaks and super friendly staff. We drove 209 miles to check this out and it was worth the effort. If you’re anywhere close by at dinner time (supper in these parts!) stop in for a terrific piece of prime meat.
Big Ed's was very busy on this Saturday evening. Sat in the bar area with a beer and was supplied a reliable buzzer when the table was ready. They had run out of their baked potatoes and by the time the food arrived were running out of lettuce and served about a third portion of normal. The mashed potatoes were fine but also a small portion. The 16 oz filet was delicious and properly prepared. I hope they can solve the problems with food supplies before my next visit. I don't...
