Sat for 5 minutes before I could get staff's attention. The food.was disappointing and the roll was left off the plate. No one ever came by to see if everything was okay or did I need refill. Will not come back.

Early in lunch hour arrival, fries arrived cold, chicken fried sandwich plain with no flavor, hot roast beef sandwich hot but gravy looked congealed as if packaged. Sodas absolutely flat, no carbonation. Won't be returning.

We chose this place based on Google reviews and my husband's love of a good hot roast beef sandwich (beef manhattan). We certainly didn't feel welcomed here. Kansas isn't home to us, so maybe that was why. We felt that our server would have been just as happy (?) if we hadn't chosen to come in. Maybe she was having a bad day ... I don't know.

Hubby had the hot roast beef sandwich which comes over mashed potatoes, and he said the roast beef flavor was exceptional although not as tender as some. I had fish and chips, with sweet potato fries. The fish was overcooked, but the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had.

Although the food was fairly tasty, I doubt we would choose to come back due to service.

Sorry, but I do not see where they get any kind of medal or acknowledgement, for the best country fried steak. I personally it was so disappointed as I searched out a home cooking restaurant. My partner did not even get the correct order, then was told it could not be fixed because she had used up all the gravy. The onion rings appetizer were all burnt, Except for 2. Never in my life, have I seen a one trip salad bar for $8.99, that had very limited options to begin with . Salads came with our dinner, which we were given plates, just above a saucer size to make. I could also honestly say, I don't know of any server who walks over to the Register ---several feet from us---once the card is given, and stands over there and yells, do you want a tip on this.... Then proceeds the yell across the restaurant How much ? So inappropriate. Honestly, the best thing about the meal. Was the chocolate chip cookies at the end.
When traveling, we always search out the small unchained restaurants, because that's where the best food usually is... I was really looking forward to that award Winning chicken fried steak ... Sorry to say this she was not it

Amazing staff, great food, great prices. Definitely recommend this place. We were just stopping in while taking a quick dinner break in our 1100 miles trip back home. We truly enjoyed the new hire and the rest of the staff. Will consider visiting again whenever we make our trip again.
