If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to walk into a live-action episode of “Kitchen Nightmares,” congratulations — this McDonald’s in Columbus, KS has you covered.
I walked in and immediately thought I had stumbled onto the set of a post-apocalyptic cooking show, where fries rain from the sky, seasoning explodes like confetti, and the floor is basically a Slip ’N Slide made of sadness. I’ve seen cleaner trenches in Army field training — and that’s saying something.
There were food scraps everywhere, a blue mysterious bag on the floor (crime scene? snack? nobody knows), and enough trash scattered around the kitchen to qualify as modern art. I’m honestly convinced the fryer area hasn’t been cleaned since the McRib’s FIRST limited release in the 80s.
The staff was just working around the mess like it was perfectly normal, which tells me this wasn’t a bad moment — this is their Monday through Sunday personality.
If the Kansas Department of Agriculture walks in here, they’re gonna need backup, gloves, and possibly a priest.
Would I eat here again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it? Only if you’re filming a documentary on “The Decline of Western Civilization: Fast Food Edition.”

The restaurant had many dirty, tables and floors with food and and wrappers all over. Not the usual. Staff seemed more occupied with construction going on outside than taking care of customers or cleaning

Food was expected but a few menu items were not available (cone, latte, smoothie) and I had to wait for 5 minutes in the parking lot to get my order.

I love McDonald’s but this place was not good. The atmosphere is very unpleasant. The manager is very bossy and rude to her employees in front of customers. The food tasted like oil that hasn’t been changed in weeks. It smells and looks very unclean. I was traveling and was hungry so I didn’t have a choice but to eat here if not I would have not eaten there. I hope they step up their quality of work ethic and cleanliness at this location. Specially since they are at a very convenient spot for travelers.

The girl in the drive has a horrible attitude. She irritated me so bad this early in the morning. People are traveling and passing through the only town for miles and you have a nasty attitude. Then had the audacity to be texting on her phone. I had to wait for her to finish her text before she took our payment. Ugh 😑 I wish I was paid hourly to be on my phone during a busy Saturday morning. MANAGEMENT

Food was good once the order was right. Had to get 3 different drinks because the dark ones tasted like straight carbonation. Mixed so thin looked like light tea.was like that a month ago someone needs taught how mix it.
