I recently dined at Playa & Dorada, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped in, the vibrant, beachy vibe of the restaurant instantly set a relaxing and welcoming tone. The décor is bright and inviting, with elements that make you feel like you're dining on the coast—perfect for a laid-back, enjoyable meal.
The food at Playa & Dorada is absolutely incredible. I started with the ceviche, and it was fresh, flavorful, and bursting with the right balance of citrus and spice. For the main course, I had the grilled shrimp tacos, and they were out of this world. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, paired with a delicious tangy sauce and fresh toppings that elevated every bite. The Mexican street corn (elote) was also a standout—creamy, smoky, and topped with just the right amount of cheese and chili powder.
The service was exceptional. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations. The timing of the food was spot on, and we felt well taken care of throughout the entire meal.
If you’re in the mood for fresh, flavorful Mexican seafood in a fun, lively atmosphere, Playa & Dorada is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their delicious menu!

By far the worst Mexican food ever in Dodge City! The chips were stale, and the sauce was like 4 tablespoons of it for 5 people. Then the horchata is a powdered one, not homemade and super watered. The meat on the burrito tasted outdated. The seafood dishes had no seasoning or salt super bland. For four people, the total was 80.00 something. I don’t have a problem paying that much for quality food, but this ain’t it. Also, the waiter didn’t check on us to see how the food was.

The food, service, and atmosphere here are all amazing! Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by. We had the Verde enchiladas, caldo de res, and sopas—everything was absolutely delicious. And the horchata? Easily the best I've ever had!

Really good Mexican food! Chose the place because it advertised seafood entrees and I had not tried it before. The service was super and the result was a really delicious fish fillet cooked in jalapenos, tomatoes, and onion with a few perfectly cooked flour tortillas. Almost like being back in Puerto Escondido. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Dodge City. I'm certainly returning for more!
