The Applebee's in Emporia is much like any other Applebee's anywhere else. The difference comes from the management and service. A server named Jenn gave us great service two weeks ago. A server named EmmaJean gave us bad service this week.

We ordered our food for pickup, and overall it was good. The food was warm and tasty, but it took a little time to be ready because the place seemed busy when we arrived.
The inside looks like a typical Applebee’s, with a bar and tables where people can sit and eat, and so on.

Bench seat springs are becoming worn out. Was informed that the restaurant was out of broccoli and Josh wine. Food was good. Drink and food service was slow. They weren't that busy. Overall, our experience was okay.

I could not get waitress to wait on me. I guess her phone was more important. It was forever to get waited on to begin with, then I never saw her until food arrived. At this time I asked for extra dressing for salad, it was over ten minutes before I saw her again. Then I had to ask again. Finally after about seven minutes I received the dressing. At this time I needed water. It was brought after I finished my meal by another waitress who then began to argue with me and tell me I was just a bad customer and didn't understand the situation. That was not my input. If there was an issue or should have been up to the manager to correct. I did talk to a manager, at least that is what he claimed. Had a hair net on and a winter coat. Working in the cooler. Looked very unprofessional in my opinion. So credited me a portion of the meal back. Didn't really face the problem at hand.

Ordered carside to go, waited almost a half hour past pick up time to get order. Food was cold, no value here for your money. Go someplace else to spend your money. Hamburger looked like it had been sitting for a while. Not returning here for a meal, well 2 years later we went back, burgers still cold, fries cold, server not very nice, just horrible overall, still no improvement on what they give to people spending money. Would like to give a minus 3 stars but it won't allow me to

A truly horrible Applebee's. I havent eaten at an Applebee's in probably 10 years, but was stuck in Emporia for a 34 reset, so I went to this one. I will never go to another Applebee's as long as I live. The wait staff inattentive, the food terrible and the manager oblivious to the obvious lack of attention and dissatisfaction with my dining experience. No apologies, no offer to discount my meal (which I usually decline anyway) but not even an attempt to make things right. Applebee's has been in decline for decades, but at this point, they should just close the doors and file for bankruptcy, because it doesnt take a whole lot of insight to see that that's where they are headed.
