This is a great place for casual date night or breakfast with the family this is the place for you. Staff is always friendly and at your service, good was phenomenal. I also had the creme Brule and that's amazing. All in all highly recommend
Early dinner, 11 people in the restaurant. Friendly staff, clean, quiet atmosphere those were the positives.
Drinks went dry without refills, cucumbers were sour on the salad, I had to wait for salad dressing, The main course didn't get any better, the filet mignon steak was dry without seasoning and tasted like it fell into something sour. How can fries be more chewy than crispy? Vegetables had rotten spots. Forgot to get the dessert which was ordered to go... Upsidedown and partially smashed in the togo box.
Hands down the worst meal I've spent $100+ on. Should have listened to the coworkers who warned me away from this place
Great food and great drinks. Got the bacon appetizer and it was probably the best bacon I’ve ever had in my life.
The blackened mahi-mahi lunch sandwich is excellent.
The burger had no flavor and was super dry. The steak had no flavor either. The salad was very basic for the price. The fries were good. Employees were sitting and standing around.
Food we got was good but I was a little disappointed in that there was only one kind of steak offered and they call themselves a steakhouse!
This was a wonderful find!! We were traveling and stumbled upon it. I was craving a GREAT burger. It was faantaastic!! Juicy and cooked too perfection!! They have beer battered fries you must try too. The atmosphere and the staff was great!

Chose to try Barons and made a reservation for 815 pm. They called at 8:10 pm to let us know they were out of steaks, and most everything. They said they could only do burgers and pasta or salad. Pretty disappointing phone call to get as we were arriving. Since we had just arrived in the parking lot when they called and we'd just driven 5 hours from Wichita plus being a Saturday night we knew getting into another steakhouse would be difficult so we decided to go in and just see what they did have.
Turns out there's a fine dining side and a sports bar side. After the host apologized he compared this to Popeyes running out of chicken lol. A steakhouse running out of steak on a Saturday night at 8 pm seems crazy. We found out they did have some steak just none of the big steaks like porterhouse, filets, etc.
We settled on Salmon & Chicken fried steak plus the candy bacon appetizer.. They would not allow any substitutions on your side's and force you to buy an additional side if you want something different. My salmon meal was already pricey at $35 so I chose to forgo the baked potato I wanted sadly. It came with rice pilaf and asparagus. I wasn't thrilled with being forced into rice as I didn't want it but the meal was good. I was pleasantly surprised the asparagus was cooked really well. It's sad though that it was the highlight of our meal. The chicken fried steak came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. We also shared a house salad.
While the food was cooked perfectly it certainly was bland. I'd really suggest they look into using some salt, pepper, and garlic at a minimum in the future...maybe some accent for flavor? The candied bacon was an impressive show and delivery, tasted really good, but was like eating beef jerky. It was probably the 2nd highlight of the meal of the night but you had to saw through it with a knife and a fork couldn't pierce it lol.
Service was decent, servers were nice and attentive. They were quite embarrassed about running out of a lot of food and I felt bad for them. For a Saturday the restaurant was pretty empty (they said they just ran out before we got there). Not sure who they have as a food manager but clearly they need to work on that lol.
In the end, our bill was just over $106 with a $20 tip added on top. Was it worth it for the money? For me, no definitely not worth it. I've ate at many fine dining steakhouses and had much better food at this price point. I'd of expected this meal to run about $50-70 quite honestly. It feels like you ordered fine dining from temu.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money for pretty mediocre food with pretty small portions and smothered in whatever sauce they add. My salmon was swimming again in lime cream sauce lol. Be proactive and bring some Mrs Dash or your favorite seasoning blend...might suggest some accent...that would lol.
My final thoughts are I will probably not come back in the future when I travel to Garden City and I wouldn't really recommend them based on my experience. I hope they'll consider making some changes in the future to improve. I think Gordon Ramsey could come in and fix this place up...should give him a call. If they made some changes I would go back.
Dietary restrictions: They refuse to do any substutions so beware of this.

The bartender was prompt but had 0 personality. She was like a robot. The food was nothing special. The steak was no better than a chain steakhouse. I expected a little more for the prices.

On our way from KC to Gunnison Co and stopped in Garden City for the night. Wife looked for places to eat and recent reviews about Barons were not great. We tried it anyway It was wonderful and as nice as the best places in KC including those on the Plaza. We ate on the sports bar side and it was excellent. Food, atmosphere, everything. We think competition in GC is trying to trash this place. Really really awesome and nice people.
Never ate here before. Steak and mashed potato's are very good!
I ordered room service & asked for the Cobb salad. I noticed there was no dressing, so I called down and they stated I didn't get any, because I didn’t ask for any dressing. I figured dressing would be included with the order, and I wasn't able to go down and get it. This made for a pretty dry salad.
