Staets is more than steak! A Mom & Pop restaurant from the “Old Days” still operating here in ‘Hutch. Wide variety of food on the menu, huge portions, & delightful service. So glad we were encouraged to come here!

Would of been 5 stars if we had gotten a little better service. A smile goes a long way. Food was great. No thank you while handing the tip to the waitress she just put it in her pocket and ignored us. But it's okay we will be back for the food.

Good food, excellent service by the waitress. Only knock against it, was the wait time from the cook. Took excessively long, tho it was busy, so it didn't affect my experience, thougb my wife wasn't impressed ?

The food was delicious as always. The service was awful. Three waitresses and one cashier and we couldn’t get anyone to wait on us. I finally went and grabbed a couple of menus. Finally somebody came over, after other customers were waited that came in after us. Rude stares and bad service won’t get you as far as greeting a customer and a smile….just FYI!

What a great Mom & Pop shop! Everything was fantastic. I loved the small cozy atmosphere. The service was excellent and the quality and quantity were a good value. If we ever make it back to Hutchinson again, this is definite stop to eat place!
Drove 15 hours from Michigan to Kansas and was told to eat at Skates. Best place to eat, I'll come back again.

Me a and my husband went in there yesterday(10\6\2024 to have lunch, we ordered a cheese burger, Fry's and water, we got the worst service ever, terrible food, everyone that came in before us got their food before us we waited so long for our food we ended up getting our food to go, the meat was so hard like it was over cooked, and then charge us almost $30.00 for crappy food, we will never eat there again. We can find better food and better service then what we got there, the waitress never came to us to inform us on our order on the delay, not one time, no apologies nothing, we are done with this place

Our food was very good. Fixed exactly like we asked. Chicken Fried Steaks, with Fries instead of mashed potatoes & green bean & white gravy, my husband Hamburger Steak cooked to perfection, green beans & salad. The Carrot Cake was delicious.
