“I had the fufu and egusi soup, and it was really good. This center has so much potential, and you can feel the love and intention behind what they’re building. It’s a true community space. The kids were able to play games, sing karaoke, and just have fun — they really enjoyed themselves. You can tell the staff cares about creating a safe, joyful place for everyone. I’m excited to see this center grow and continue uplifting the community.”

Online menu does not explain items well. Food was dry, okra soup was all spice, zero flavor and no meat. Definitely not worth the $18. Got the wrong food, wings were bland and dry, plantains had zero flavor. Fish and chips - fries were ok (frozen cooked crinkle fries), fish was dry , overcooked, contained zero fish (was fried skin) and tasted like dirty river fish. NOTHING WAS SEASONED OR EVEN SALTED. The meat pie was just puffed up dough with very little filling had to take several bites before even able to taste the filling. I like trying new places but this was a definite let down as I was very excited and everything was just bland. Feel that food was made in a hurry. Super disappointed! WILL NOT BE EATING HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYONE! Spent over $60 for maybe $5 worth of ok cold fries.

In addition when picking up order we were rushed because she needed to leave but did not communicate that prior to us placing our order. Says open till 11pm and closed about 630pm instead.

The Harmony Center was awesome. When you walk in it’s very welcoming. We were greeted by Ms. Matou. She was very welcoming and made us feel at home with the hospitality she presented us. While’s at first we weren’t going to order anything we sat and played a couple board games and listened to music. Ms. Matou offered us some samples of Hit Tea and vegan okra. It was all very delicious which made us sexy to order food. We had The Sampler with red Snapper and Okra soup with fufu it was all very tasteful. We enjoyed our time there. I’d recommend this place to others. It’s very community oriented. Thank you for having us.

I had the sampler plate and the okra soup with fufu. The sampler is a great way to get a nicely proportioned taste of everything. My favorite was the coleslaw!! Nicely seasoned and spicy! I am not normally a pork eater, but the pork was cooked beautifully (a nice crunch and tender on the inside). The okra soup and fufu was some of the best I’ve had. The soup was not slimy and was well seasoned. The fufu had a nice, subtle flavor and was not bland! Loved this restaurant and I DEFINITELY would come again!

Our family had the poul fris with bannann peze and pikliz. Everything was so delicious! We were bummed to not have leftovers. Our first time having Haitian cuisine and it certainly won't be our last. The Harmony Center has a colorful and welcoming atmosphere - felt right at home. Highly recommend! Martine is a gracious hostess and I look forward to our next visit.

We recently came to Kansas and I was really happy to come across Chez Matou Cuisine. It’s been really long since I had a Haitian Dish. And man oh man did I tore up the sampler. Definitely looking forward to more in future. Thank you Chef Matou

I ordered the catfish nugget meal and I'm telling you almost bit my finger off trying to eat this flavor for meal.

I feel sorry for anybody try to take it because, I'm going to jail! That spicy coleslaw, fried plantains & fried catfish nugget meal has made me a continuous customer of Chez Matou.

Friendly service, cooked with love so it takes time.

The true Haitian way!

If you want authentic Haitian food with an authentication atmosphere then Chez Matou is it!

The ONLY THING I DONT LIKE ....

is that they're not open more often.

Really a guessing game.

We've been trying to come back every day..

I CAME BACK BOUGHT THIS SAME ORDER 3 TIMES..

SAME DAY !!!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! 🤤

I was utterly charmed by the Chez Matou food truck! Chef Matou is all warmth and joy and hospitality, happy to explain her food, culture, and language. My husband and I got to try the best egg sandwich of our lives (spicy coleslaw is my new favorite thing!) and the pork belly and plantains combo was the definition of comfort food. The sweet Haitian Lemonade was the perfect compliment to our meal’s spice and we left with smiles on our faces, grateful for the magic of a new cultural experience right here in Junction City. Thanks, Chef Matou!

Stopped by the Chez Mary food truck in Manhattan and it was PHENOMENAL. It was our first time ever having Haitian food and we were sold. The griyo combo was absolutely incredible, with a perfectly crispy outside and juicy pork belly on the inside. Next time, I’ll be asking for the oxtail dish. ?
