Well, there’s not much more. I can say you see my five star ratings but if you’re ever on I 70 you better stop there for your breakfast and lunch because you cannot beat it. You can’t leave their hungry. I guarantee you that and it’s really good food. Good service I drive my little 207 miles down there from Omaha. I’ll stop there every time. I love it, love the people love all my friends too thank you bye

ordered biscuits and gravy with hash browns. husband orders fried shrimp. biscuits and gravy were ok. no salt or pepper. my hash browns didn’t come out til after our food to go came out and i had to ask three times. they were mushy and no salt or pepper. i never got my drink refilled. shrimp was ok. fries are yummy. probably look for another place to eat when we come back through.

While visiting the Topeka area on motorcycles, we found this place on Google maps. We love the mom and pop diners over fast food or a Cracker Barrel (support local, right?), so this was right up our alley.
Although it was around noon, we all ordered breakfast and it was perfect comfort food. I just had eggs and hash browns, my husband had a delicious vegetable omelet and our son had a really good chicken fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy was great and the eggs were made to our liking. Our server and other employees were very friendly. Although we didn’t talk to her, I believe Mary was walking around, chatting & asking patrons how they’re doing, etc…
The special of the day was fresh catfish and it looked great.

I would’ve loved the opportunity to have actually been given the chance to have tried this old place that’s been around for so long but unfortunately we sat down and about 4 other tables sat down after us and we’re waited on immediately and given there drinks and menu while we were just ignored. We drove from Florida to see my family at Fort Riley base and I’m from a small town but this was very unfortunate for us to be treated like we were invisible. I love supporting maw and paw places in and locally owned businesses as their the backbone of America also my parents first date was at one in my hometown and it still exists today just a shame to feel like an outsider and to not feel welcomed at such an old establishment. Maybe y’all should put for locals only on the door because that’s exactly how it felt.
