Went in for Sunday Super and felt it was a bait and switch type of offer. Had to remind our server to get the potatoes and veggie after my steak came out, then had to remind another server our dessert was included. My steak was ordered medium and was raw/cold in the middle. Def one of the best steaks in town--maybe not on Sunday though

We had a business meeting with people that were in town from Italy. Our service was exceptional to every detail. Gavin was our waiter and went above and beyond. Very impressed.

Thank you so much, for making our wedding anniversary special. Everyone was very attentive. We enjoyed it very much.

Expensive but worth the money for special occasions. Superb Wine List. Focused menu with top end dinner selections from steaks, chops, lobster, king crab legs and more. Well prepared. Plenty of side dish choices, appetizers and salads. Overall a great choice of menu items (none cheap). The food from appetizers to salads to main course to dessert was well prepared and tasty. You would expect this for the price of course. Our anniversary dinner included a custom menu with "Happy 43rd Anniversary" and a printed take home menu as well. I ordered flowers for the table from an outside florist they were right on the table when we arrived. They were really busy that night and it took a while to get the server to us but the manager came over several times and made sure we had the wine we wanted served + some conversation. The server was great and attentive. Two suggestions for 801 Chophouse: Never serve drawn butter for a great lobster that is not table heated over a candle flame to keep it hot; Servers should always offer to separate the lobster from the shell and plate it. First time we encountered drawn butter served in a small container set on the plate plus we had to detach the lobster from the split shell that was on top of the shell to plate it. No big deal, but normally that is offered. The drawn butter was fine but got to room temp quick. Suggestion to patrons: We always set in the main dining room. Bar tables and booths are high noise level. Even the main dining was higher than normal noise. If you like a really quiet dinning experience be advised or go when they are not that busy. In the past it was less busy but quieter. Conclusion: High End Food, Great Menu, Nice surroundings, Great Staff and Great Wine List; a bit on the louder side when busy; Valet Parking; Expensive by KC Standards but not that much over the top these days. We go to 801 Chop House 1-2 times a year. Not disappointed. But tell them to flame heat the drawn butter over a candle on the table!! :)

Ajay is amazing at his craft and always delivers with a smile. I also heard the assistant manager Austin is leaving. He has always been a beacon of professionalism and just an all around amazing host. Food was also impeccable. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here.

801 never disappoints! Austin always takes great care to ensure our annual outing is exceptional. The wait staff and bartenders are always so friendly and accommodating. And the food - excellent!

The food, staff and ambience were as superb as we have been come to expect from this high end restaurant! It takes an establishment that stands above the others for us to spend this amount of money and to keep coming back.

Had reservations at 7:30 but because of work I knew I would be late. I was able to call and leave a message explaining the situation. On my way there I received a call from 801 and they asked when I would arrive and I let them know about the message I left and my eta. I checked in upon arrival and saw that the restaurant was quite busy and there was a wait. However, the hostess let me know they were cleaning a table and I would be seated promptly. I was surprised as it was ME that was late and they had plenty of other patrons waiting. I was upon appreciative that I was seated within 5 minutes of my late arrival. I was promptly greeted by hostess Lauren. She was amazing and checked in multiple times to make sure I had what I wanted and needed and was great to have as my waitress. The food was just amazing. My ribeye, lobster Mac and cheese, and green beans were all cooked and seasoned to perfection. When it came to wrapping up the experience Lauren was kind enough to box up the leftovers I had and bag them and let me enjoy the rest of my drink and that inspired me to get dessert to go. The whole experience was amazing. The experience is pricy. No doubt. But the quality, atmosphere, and service made every penny worth it! In closing no matter if this is a once a year, special occasion, professional, or just an individual experience, it is a destination to pamper yourself or yourself and a guest(s). Can't wait for the next time.

I always enjoy going 801. The steak was a little crispy and overdone for my liking and the carrots had a burnt smell, but I do enjoy 801 Chop. The waiter he was awesome. Dave was his name.

Excellent service and the food was superb! 801 Chophouse is right up there with 1587 Prime!

My husband and I both ordered the filet. They were cooked to perfection. Also had the blue cheese potatoes and asparagus. Yum. Our server Garrett was fantastic. Always smiling and very genuine.

Our waiter was fine, the wine was fine, the oysters were fine. What was not fine was the large prime rib - which we both got. It was tasteless an bland. I could not see any herb encrusted on he edges, no au jus. I would gladly pay the prime rib prices if the prime rib was good. This was not.

Good food. Horrible service from the waitress. She would leave for a long time period of time and did not check to see what we needed. Had to ask to take menus and appetizer plates away. Dropped off the dessert menu and didn't come back. I had to ask the manager for the waitress since we were done with the food. The manager dropped everything to clean the table. For how much money we spent, we would have gotta better service at a much cheaper restaurant. It was a special birthday dinner which I made a reservation for. Couldn't even try to give us a decent service for a special occasion.

The service was fantastic. The food was very good, but to be honest it was not good enough for the price you spend. For example, the ribeye steak was the thinnest piece of meat I have ever been served at a restaurant. When I spend $70 on one 16oz steak, I would expect the cut to be at a minimum 1-1/4 inch thick. This was hardly 3/4 of an inch. The $120 Snake River American Wagyu strip was maybe just under 1 inch thick which did not allow you to fully taste the meat but instead you tasted mostly seasoning and char. While still good, I expected a lot more from a rather expensive cut of meat. The prime rib on the other hand was about 1-1/2 inches thick and absolutely amazing. I wish I could say the same thing for the steak that cost twice the amount. I probably would not be going back.
