This was my 3rd time at Aqua Penny's - 1 lunch & 2nd dinner - & we went for a 92nd birthday - there were 4 of us. Our server was wonderful, our cocktails were inventive & delicious! (we may have each had 2...) & everything we had was absolutely delicious. I am, in fact, eating my leftovers as I type this! The restaurant itself is beautiful & there was simply nothing about our experience that could have been better. There was a very sweet personalized note for our birthday girl & a small, beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers that she was so excited to learn she could take home. Thank you for a lovely, delicious, fun evening, Aqua Penny's - I'll be back again soon! It is not the least expensive place, but for the experience & food quality & excellent service, it was well worth it! Their menu has evolved since opening & it now offers some of Penny's amazing Thai specialties.

Cocktails, service and oysters were good! Food was not good at all. I want to say it was the worst fish dinners we’ve ever had and we love fish. We ordered the halibut and seabass, it came out luke warm, and tasted microwaved. Very rubbery, and was very tough and salty. Halibut is usually so flaky. Also lots of saltiness in the lobster bisque. Not that great. For the price, we will not be back. But love the sister restaurant Bamboo Penny’s!

Went for my husband’s birthday with our toddler. Staff was kind and accommodating and made us feel welcome. They were able to make something off of the happy hour menu for our little one even though it wasn’t happy hour, which was definitely appreciated. The food was excellent, and the little touches made it feel like a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!

First off, what a pretty restaurant! Love the underwater vibes. My friend and I went for lunch on Saturday and were greeted the moment we walked thru the front vestibule. I can't remember our server's name, but he was extremely efficient and friendly. We started with hush puppies, lobster rangoon, crab cakes and a couple blue point oysters. All were very good. I think the lobster rangoon were my favorite, and the crab cakes a very close second. They were loaded up with lump crab. Those hushpuppies shouldn't be slept on, tho! Hot and crispy, perfect with the red pepper jam. We shared a blackened shrimp po-boy for our main course. The seasoning was good, but could have used just a bit more of a kick. The homemade chips had a salt and vinegar seasoning that was very good. It was not a cheap meal but overall, it was really good food with wonderful service. We will definitely be back.

Penny is a beautiful, personable, friendly down to earth person who owns five restaurants in the KC area. We have previously dined at Bamboo Penny’s and today, Aqua Penny’s, both are exquisite from the atmosphere to the menu and drinks, absolutely amazing! We cannot say enough great things about these two restaurants and can’t wait to try her others! Our server today was Madison. She was amazing as well, very attentive, personable and knowledgeable, we loved everyone of her recommendations! We will be back very soon!

I will prefaces this review by saying I love their sister restaurant Bamboo Penny’s and wanted to give Aqua Penny’s a try for our anniversary. The atmosphere and restroom deserves a 5 star. Our reservation was at 5:45. We arrived on times and we were seated promptly. Staff also wished us a happy anniversary and gave us a complimentary single rose and vase. A nice gesture. Our appetizer the Baked Shrimp and Crab Dip was excellent full of flavor, creamy, warm, and a generous portion of shrimp and crab. For our entrees we ordered the Jumbo Garlic Shrimp that I ordered medium spicy. My wife ordered a fish, chicken dish Pak that she ordered no spice/mild spice. We waited longer than we anticipated for our meal approximately 30min. Once served we immediately discovered our meals were prepared wrong. My wife’s dish that was supposed to be mild spicy was medium and my entree had no spice. No big deal we thought because we had another engagement to get to. Our waitress returned to our table to inquire if our meals were satisfactory and we explained to her what had happened. She offered to take our meals back to have them prepared as we had ordered. We declined because the initial preparation was long and we had another engagement planned for our anniversary that was time specific 7:30p. She asked if I was okay with my wife’s meal and I informed her it was not what I wanted nor to my taste but we where under a time constraint. I did not consume much of my meal but my wife enjoyed the shrimp, we both had leftovers. The manager came by and asked if the remainder of our meals required boxing to carry out. She boxed the remainder of our meal and we waited and waited for oud bill. Twenty-five minutes later, our waitress finally returned to our table with our bill. She informed us she took 10% ($2.70) off our lowest cost entree and gave us a $10 coupon for our next visit. I asked if the coupon was good at their other locations and she stated it was. Because we had to wait beyond a reasonable time to get our bill, we did not have time to make our next engagement. The time we left the restaurant was 7:30, it would take at least 20 minutes to get to Union Station to view the Big Boy locomotive. Some might say poor planning on our part, I don’t think so. The service at Aqua Penny’s is subpar compared to their sister restaurant Bamboo Penny’s. I will never be a patron of Aqua Penny’s again. I would have preferred giving a homeless person the cost of our dinner than wasting it at Aqua Penny’s. I am sure others have had more pleasant experiences at Aqua Penny’s ours was not. Our disappointment was greater because it was our anniversary.and the poor service caused us to miss our other planned activity. We expressed our concerns to the hostess and told him we would not be back and he offered us a hug that was better than the service we received.

This exquisite establishment was a suggestion from a colleague, and it did not disappoint. We had a delightful experience.
The restaurant aurora was wonderful for a date night. The meal from beginning to end was remarkable. The service and all staff demonstrated exceptional customer service, which was the best we have experienced in a considerable amount of time.
We commenced with a unique cocktail from their diverse offerings. Our cocktailsl were a bourbon and cinnamon concoction, oh cocktail my cocktail, and we selected their own batch to make it special. The whole meal was a night of firsts.
Our initial culinary exploration was something neither of us had ever attempted before: oysters. Interestingly, our first oysters were complimentary after solving a riddle at the bar, and my wife correctly guessed the winning duck. This set the tone, and we proceeded to savor twelve additional raw oysters.
My wife opted for the ginger lobster, and I, while I indulged in the octopus and peppers. These selections were novel experiences for both of us. We concluded our meal with bananas foster another first.
