My boyfriend and I tried Nico’s and Ana’s and WOW we haven’t stopped talking about it! The food was soooo yummy, honestly better than any fancy restaurant we’ve been to. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, and the prices were super affordable.
The service was fast and friendly, and the whole place had this cute, cozy, homey vibe that made us feel so comfortable. It’s one of those hidden gems you don’t want to gatekeep.
Everything was just perfect. We’re already planning to come back!
Rather Interesting Back Story: Nico & Ana were both Hispanic. The current owner's Grandfather fell in love w/Italian food, learned to prep & cook in an old country Italian kitchen & passed that love down to the 2 Grandchildren that run it today.
I can personally attest that Nico & Ana's is 1 of the best, affordable, family style, Italian food restaurants in the KC Metropolitan Area.
It's unique cross-cultural history makes it even more interesting!
Why is this place so empty on a Sunday evening?? They brought bread immediately and the fried pita chips are to die for. No troublw having them divide a plate. It's a little warm inside but not horrible. Their house salad tasted like they added fresh herbs and the italian dressing was crisp and citrusy, seemed homemade. Steak a la Nico was perfect, the sauces taste like real cheese, the meat was cooked perfectly (medium as requested). Tiramisu is tiramisu most places and the one here did not disappointing. The bottom was boozy and the top was creamy. 5/5 star food at 3 star prices. Chef's kiss.
Nico and Ana’s is an amazing causal Italian restaurant! They are quick, serve complimentary garlic bread and really good crisps with olive oil. Their food is always fresh and serving sizes are GREAT!
They have great food and a very courteous staff.
Food is gross left and went to drive thru no one in are party of 6 liked it
Fantastic Italian restaurant with outstanding food and service. From the bread and chips with herbed and cheese olive oil to the menu selection, highly recommend. Portions are very generous; either plan on sharing or taking some home!
We had a group of 7 with 2 kids (10 & under) and had no trouble getting seated on a Thursday evening for dinner.
We had the mixed toasted ravioli (beef & cheese) and arancini appetizers. The marinara caper cream sauce that the toasted ravs came in was unlike anything we had ever had. Fair number of pescatarian and vegetarian options, too. One person in our party had a Veggie Piada (think Italian burrito/sandwich wrap) and said it was delicious. I sampled the kids' fettuccine Alfredo and it was seriously some of the best I've ever had - rich and creamy without being too heavy or garlicky.
Food was great, service great, and my Wife still talks about the Chicken Carbonara. Plan on going again real soon!!
outstanding food! been going here with my family probably 5 times so far and every time it is just as delicious as before. HIGHLY recommend! carbanara, lasagna, alfredo, chicken parmesean, taste of italy ...superb!
It took 65 minutes to get our food. My salad never came. No dishes were taken from our table. No soda refills for my daughter. No bill was handed to us. We had to check out at the host stand. Good food though. Service was so bad!
