I only live about 5 miles from North and have been here fairly often. It has changed for the better over the years and is deservedly popular, being extended during its time at this location. The popularity of this restaurant accounts for the only problem that we had whilst here, which is minor and about which, more below. We were served, delightfully, by Kayleigh on this occassion (I hope I have her name correct) and the service was friendly, informative and attentive whilst reading the table well. We were a party of 6 and needed advice on the size of the plates, what to order etc. and all the advice panned out very well. It pays to order apps for the table as they are varied and excellent. If you opt for the main courses as well, some are larger than others so, again, ask. The meatballs were standouts, I had the lasagne which was also excellent and not too large which is important in italian restaurants where the food can be very rich. It wasn't here, but perfectly weighted I thought. There is a good selection of drinks including wines by the glass and cocktails. As mentioned above, the service is very well pitched. The only issue we had was being seated next to the large bar area that is immediately off to the left as one enters. The extension to the dining room is also off to the left and we had a table adjacent to the, very busy, bar. At around 730 this is a very busy and noisy place to be. Now, I get it; italian restaurants are typically that way, it is part of the charm. However, it was far preferable for us as a part of 6 when the bar started to clear out about 815 and the noise level dropped. The ceiling is hard (concrete if I recall) which looks fine but reflects noise. I am not a fan of not being able to hear my dinner companions conversation. Also, I have a pet peeve which is folks who show up to restaurants wearing ball caps, inappropriately attired and then proceeding to converse at an extremely elevated decibel level. Still, this is relatively minor and, to be fair, it was a Friday night so might be expected to be busy. Just be aware. I think the older part of the restaurant, and outside on the patio in the summer, would suffer far less in this regard. All in all an excellent family meal just after Thanksgiving and this restaurant will certainly remain on my rotation in Leawood. It is very good

Pizza was overcooked and the ink pasta lacked the flavor and texture that we had previously. Disappointing to say the least.

My tortellini and salad was delicious. My party of 6 all had great food including flatbread!

North Italia is an upscale restaurant. It was so noisy that you could not have a conversation - it needs sound paneling. The food came out of the kitchen just warm, no bread included. Salad was whole lettuce leaves with very large croutons - little preparation. The restaurant is one big open space but happy hour prices are not available unless seated at the bar or high top table! My opinion is there are much better option for a lot less money! We won't go back!!

We had a birthday lunch celebration and the food was great. Our server was exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant

Great meal and service, we really love North, but lately the tables are so crowded and it is so loud conversation is difficult.

Our server, Stacey, was excellent! We opted to sit outside and she was very helpful. The food was delicious, as always. The only qualm was a peculiar man who was dining outside. He was talking loudly on his phone the entire meal and did take away from the ambiance. But, we will absolutely be returning!

From the start , the atmosphere and the service was amazing. Our bartender sky was great , she recommended the spicy chicken parm with a Marco Polo and the recommendation was on point . The taste was a 10/10 on the drinks and the food. My brother ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and as you will see in the pics , he almost ate it all before I could snap the pic . I think it’s safe to say we have definitely found our new Italian spot in KC

We (family of 5) went in without a reservation and there was a lengthy wait time for indoor seating but the weather was nice and we opted to be seated outdoors. Staff is very friendly and helpful when it came to explaining some of the dishes. Everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered. We will definitely be coming back again.

Our server was great. I also love the lunch selection. I was disappointed with the undercooked salmon I added to a salad. The other items were delicious.

Absolutely phenomenal meal! My fiancé and I dined here for lunch on a whim and what an excellent choice it was.
He had the garlic knot meatball sliders with a salad and I had the caprese sandwich with prosciutto added. We also began our meal with the calamari appetizer. Every course tasted fresh, and perfectly cooked. Our server was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. We ate half of our meals so we could take it home to enjoy later in our evening as well. It’s been a very long time since I have had a meal I haven’t been able to stop raving about. I could not recommend this place enough!! I wish there was a way to give 10/5 stars. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely terrible service. Came in on a busy night, which I understand I wouldn’t be accommodated to immediately, so we get sat down and we waited patiently for 25 minutes and not a single person came to our table, again I understand, but then a new group of people came in and got sat pretty close to us and they were there for a total of 3 minutes and got helped before us. There were so many workers who walked passed us in those 25 minutes and knew we were there. I don’t think I plan on returning.

For an upscale brunch restaurant, I am used to hot rolls or small muffins served when seated. Coffee was lukewarm, had to wait for it to be served and it was weak. It was busy at 11A but not sold out in anyway. Food was served lukewarm. They did offer unique food options for brunch.
