I went with my elderly mom on a Sunday afternoon. The waiters were no where to be found, had to ask twice for service, and then they got my mom's order wrong. So, I had food (that I shared with Mom) and she had to wait for hers to be re-done. The food was good but the lack of attention was disappointing.

Eggs Benedict hash brownsamd some greens for color. Hollandaise was light and lemon sharp. Eggs were hard boiled because I forgot to request runny yokes. The ham was tasty and a plentiful slice. The Mimosa was in a wide glass versus a flute. I prefer the flute for the bubbles. Great friendly service was provided.

The eggs Benedict with salmon was so so. Hollandaise sauce tasted funky, salmon was the same. English muffin tasted like a griddle and cheap oil. Hash browns tasted like it was frozen first and over salted. Disappointing.

Food is great, service generally is too. But a restaurant that charges $1.50 for an ice cube and doesn’t show the price on the menu…not the norm. This isn’t Paris or Rome. Also, sitting a couple next to the kids’ table on date night when the restaurant is mostly empty. Poor form. Second bad experience here.

Rye is one of my favorites in Kansas City. The fried chicken is the best and the mac’n’cheese will send you into a state of euphoria. It’s hard to find places with a top-class pie menu, but Rye delivers on all the Sunday family dinner boxes you’re looking for. And if that wasn’t enough, the incredible cocktails help to wash down the delicious food.

Also, don’t sleep on Saturday brunch. The Cinnamon Roll is so amazing.

The best part of dinner was the fresh tomatoes. This place is revered for the fried chicken and I was just not impressed at all. The chicken was bland, breading looked like Long John Silvers, and had no flavor. It seemed very undercooked as well. The sides were good.

Very loud and lack elegance yet the steaks are one of the best you will ever have. Try the Monday steak night. Best deal in town

Met a friend for lunch was hoping to sit on the patio but he said it was closed due to the heat. It was gorgeous out. It was absolutely freezing inside in a little loud to have a quiet conversation...

Food feels way overpriced for what you get 🤷🏻‍♀️ Service wasn’t fantastic…just expected more from this place!

We typically love Rye. We don't come often but when we do we get great drinks, food and service. Tonight, a Sunday, the food was great but the drinks and service was subpar. I don't think we'll be back on a Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, the food was fantastic, but the the service and atmosphere were lacking. I know we are going for a very Midwestern vibe here, but the acoustics in the restaurant are so loud during dinner rush you can't hear yourself think. The service is the most questionable and mediocre part. The menu specifically implies that the reserve steaks include a soup/salad and a side, I was charged for both of these with my dry-aged KC strip. Lastly, I had made a reservation stating that it was my birthday. I'm not asking for anything free, but I didn't even receive an acknowledgement from staff about the note that I had added. For a bill of $150 (2 drinks, 1 app, and 1 expensive steak with 2 sides that they imply are included w/reserve steaks) for 1 person w/o desert, I expected a lot more. Food is 11/10, but don't expect anything beyond straight forward service and the atmosphere of a Red Robin on a busy night.
