Wow! When you go to the Burning Barrel don’t just expect good food. Good food isn’t close to describing what my group had. The food was not only fresh but everything on the menu was locally grown, down to the herbs and spices. Each course was thoughtfully planned out. Did I mention the menu changes with each event. They have all of the accommodations for your group. We attended on a chilly night and they proceeded to ensure we were warm and comfortable. I can go on and on about our experience at the Burning Barrel. But the only way to truly see is to attend yourself.

Out of all our of our awesome memories this summer, the top of the list is the evening we spent at Burning Barrel. Kristin and Brian have created an extraordinary experience. We began our evening strolling about the farm & the gardens. There's nothing like the pristine air found away from the city. The drinks could put any handcrafted cocktail to shame.Using all natural ingredients the flavors are delicious and unique. Although they need no enhancement, guests may choose with or without alcohol. Then it was time to be seated for dinner on the porch. That evening's menu was the 3 course pork-centric menu. I've eaten in restaurants around the world, restaurants with all sorts of local awards or in the Michelin guide. I've never tasted pork so tender, moist, well seasoned & beautiful! It was incredible. Salad and dessert were equally beautiful and impressive. I wish I'd taken pictures but I had such good conversations with my table mates, I didn't give a thought to pulling out my cell phone. We intend a fall excursion for their 5-course dinner. Burning Barrel has my highest possible recommendation. Go! You'll be very happy if you do.

If you want to know what love tastes like, visit Bruning Barrel. It's perfection on a plate. I can't say enough good things about Burning Barrel! Kristin & Brian went above and beyond to accommodate us when there was a misunderstanding on my part. We were able to walk the grounds, see some animals, and smell the wood grill fire. It is outdoor seating family style which was a pleasant surprise. It's an adventure I'm looking forward to having again.

You do know the main theme veg beef chicken or pork. The menu is paired with per course cocktails which were excellent. You can bring your own wine and also walk around the farm before dinner. We got the three sister soup which was surprising and wonderful. We then had the pork and the vegetarian main dish. While they were both tasty it felt like we needed a bit more food For dessert we got the blackberry cake with chocolate chips mind basil ice cream which was fresh out of the oven. Very tasty.

Upon arrival at 6:00 you are greeted by the best staff and offered a beverage (alcoholic or non). You are then able to walk around the farmstead until the 6:45 bell. We headed back to the patio and took our seats around the gorgeous elm table seated for an intimate 20. At 7:00 was the start of a 3 course meal (our reservation was the menu for pastured pork). Course after course I was blown away. Everything was plated beautifully and the portions were a gracious amount. The staff is very attentive and welcoming and make you feel like family.
I cannot wait to go back.

What a lovely dining experience in every way! We loved walking the land, seeing the animals, and leaving the evening with new friends from the large community table. We savored every amazing course and drink and felt so nourished after eating. So much thought and beauty in each dish! Cannot wait to come back - we will ask be bringing / sending all of our friends to experience this goodness too!

Our group of four have traveled most of the world, completed many river and ocean cruises and visited 28 US cities together. This dinner was to celebrate my 76th birthday. We all loved everything about our evening at BB. The food was fantastic but the experience of walking and gazing through the farm before dinner was a perfect experience. Brian and Kristen have created a unique experience that anyone and everyone would enjoy. Get away from the city, truly relax and enjoy a meal that is as wonderful as any you find in Kansas City. Stan, Susan, Tom and Sally cannot thank Brian and Kristen enough. They are true artists.
