We stopped in for breakfast after our Thanksgiving trip to see family. The proprietor and wait staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was hot, fresh, and homemade. My daughter and I had the biscuits with a generous dollop of sausage gravy ladled over the top. My husband had the substantial breakfast burrito, but the real star was the made from scratch salsa. It was delicious! The proprietor told us about Mexican food and we’re disappointed that we’ll miss out on the food and fun. It’s a little off the beaten path, but 100% worth it!!!

Had some time while getting tires put on my truck so I decided to venture down to the Prairie House Cafe. one of the best decisions I've ever made. I ordered a plain cheeseburger and fried Okra. mind you I've eaten thousands of cheeseburgers all over this country and have owned my own scratch restaurant and I will tell you, I just had the absolute best burger I have ever had. I literally didn't want it to end. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly and served on a gently toasted buttered bun. I finished it 15 minutes ago and my mouth is still watering! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to this little gem of a place!!!

We used to love to eat at the Prairie House. But today the services were terrible. I don’t blame the cooks and the waitress, I blame the management. The food was really good but the wait was too long. We were disappointed.I don’t think we are going to come back! We will go to Wichita instead. Very sad.
