Got my order wrong twice. Only had canned margaritas that they poured on ice. Had left over queso, and was charged for extra chips to take home.

We love this place! Food is always very good, and I've never had anything I didn't like. Service is always good too. My only complaint is that it feels kind of dirty sometimes. Almost every time we've ate here, there's a bus cart full of dirty dishes just parked by the bar. Not very appealing when you're trying to eat. Also, some of the customers I've seen there will let their kids run rampant around the restaurant. That's obviously not the restaurants' fault, people just need to be better parents. Other than that, we enjoy the food!

I was the only person there and my order gets screwed up. How does that happen? Also charging extra for using your debit card is dumb

Standard Kansas style mexican food. On the wonderful old main street.

Was very clear with our server that my wife has a soy allergy. Explicitly told her that she cannot eat anything with soy or cooked in anything that uses soy. Server reassured us that the cooks would use separate pans to cook her food to ensure no cross contamination. My wife is now sick because someone on their end did not get the memo. Extremely displeased.

Food was great, service was pretty decent but charging 4% extra for the use of a card when it was not posted anywhere is UNACCEPTABLE! I asked where it was posted and the gal at the register looked around for the sign, found it hidden away, put it up by the register and said “here it is” this is wrong on so many levels. If you want to operate this way you should have it posted on the front doors, on the Menus, and maybe tell guests before ordering. This is not the norm. What really pissed me off is I had cash with me, had I known I would have paid this way.

They need to fix the air conditioner. The owners of the building don't seem to be taking care of the property.

Asked for a fajita with no shrimp. got lots of shrimp. waitress was nice and let me get a different meal. got a burger and the buns were very moist and tough, meat and sauce was tasteless, i suspect it was reheated from frozen. Was sick all evening after and the next morning. Absolutely terrible experience. the only bright spots were they have good salsa and a polite and kind server otherwise it would zero stars

I'm not upset about the liquor license being renewed at moment because I am not a raging alcoholic anymore! Two years sober this month unlike the angry person below me LMBO. I think this place has some potential, not perfect with room to improve here or there. As for the food... It was really good when I came here for lunch today. The shredded white cheese, guacamole ?, lettuce beans and rice. Chips and salsa was delicious. Thank you guys for a delicious lunch!

They were not serving drinks because their liquor license was "being renewed." We were tempted to turn around and leave at that point. The chimichangas had a rubbery filling and the waitress clearly did not want to be there. My group asked a question about what one of the dishes was and she responded with she didn't know. Very underwhelmed.

Candles in Mulvane is a laid back, comfortable restaurant. We had 6 adults and 6 kids (2-12) and everyone enjoyed themselves and their food.

Kid-friendliness: Absolutely.

We had dinner here for the first time, and the place was well kept and the food was good for the most part. Their menu looks great and they have similar options as any other good Mexican restaurant. Their combo menu choices are better than what we have seen in other places. My wife ordered a #10 combo of Chicken Enchilada and Chile Relleno. She was impressed that they used the correct pepper for the Chile Relleno. She was less satisfied about her chicken enchilada which tasted a bit strangely seasoned. I took a bite of it and felt the same way. I ordered the #4 combo of two beef enchiladas. Glad I didn't order a chicken enchilada, as my beef enchiladas were great. The ground beef was properly seasoned and everything tasted fresh. The chips and salsa were good too (which is how we eval Mexican restaurants that are new to us). Our server was Jamie and she was excellent. She has a great attitude and will make sure that you are taken care of. Small disappointment was that they are getting their liquor license renewed and was unable to serve anything alcoholic. Don't know what happened there but will want to come back to try their frozen margaritas. I have only found one place in Wichita that we really like their margaritas. So I am curious about theirs. We will be back to eat and drink here again. Strong 4.75 star review

Dietary restrictions: They will make your food to order based upon any stated dietary restrictions.

Parking: Main parking is on the back and the main entrance is actually in the alley off to the side. The patio that faces the street is an ancillary entrance but you wouldn't have known that as there are no posted signs to tell you otherwise.

Kid-friendliness: They have a claw machine and seem to love kids

Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible from either entrace
